But no matter who gave the name, it's incorrect because it doesn't match the primary name. In fact, his giving it that name only makes it clearer because it doesn't go down well and makes the "plot twist" less understood. For me and many weebs LOL, when eren says "shingeki no kyojin" it's a great moment, for that very reason.

I used to think season 1 was boring and too full of fillers, which I still kind of do, but there are so many scenes that make sense in hindsight. There are too many theories you guys mention and things in the show that we can't explain without spoiling, I really hope you guys go back and rewatch the show after you're done with season 4!

2022-06-18 04:06:47 +0000 UTCyep, if you translate just the japanese title to chinese it can be interpreted as either the "attacking" titan or the "attack (adj) titan" so it was weird to see the title as "attack on titan". but this reveal is glorious i cant imagine for native speakers reading the manga how that must have felt. WAS THE MARLEY/UNIVERSE REVEAL NOT ENOUGH!?!?!?

The Japanese name is constructed as Attack(adj.) Titan. So before this reveal, it can easily be interpreted as attacking titans (the enemies). This can't be exactly translated to English, and "Attack Titan" just wouldn't make sense so I guess Attack on Titan was the next best thing.
