I've been rendering the last few days so I've barely done anything. First, I did the solo animation. Then I moved on immediately to the topping animation, and tried to do stuff while it's rendering. But it's very touchy, because things crash as I'm rendering, I lose work because I happened to not have had my hand hovering over control+s as I usual do, or it makes the rendering crash, or it makes my whole computer crash! I got my first blue screen in probably 10 years while rendering the topping animation.
And the worst part is that I have to re-render the entire topping animation because I somehow accidentally turned off modifiers that are important to the couch deforming. So it just... doesn't deform.

I looked at the first 200 frames in motion and I was like "okay, looks fine" because I was mainly looking for collision/deformation/shrinkwrapping meshes that shouldn't be rendering. And I had all the necessary modifiers turned on to make the couch deform in the viewport, but the firey guy's mesh had the armature and remesh modifier turned off for rendering. So, it never made the couch deform.
Each frame takes about 21-30 seconds to render. If we assume that each one takes 21 seconds,
21 * 2600 frames = 54,600 seconds
54,600 / 60 = 910 minutes
910 / 60 = ~15.17 hours.
So like, over 15 hours, by a few hours, give or take. Some of the frames get heavier when the fluids are on screen.
Leaving my computer on and churning away at renders for 15-17 hours isn't a huge deal, but I can't just leave it because rendering crashes when my computer's storage is full. I'm wondering if it's due to Windows paging RAM and increasing what it uses on the disk, which is what fills up storage. I checked and it was set to like, 4 gigs of paged RAM which doesn't seem like much, but I only have like, 4-5 gigs of space free on this computer most of the time. So I made it way smaller.
I'm hoping that might resolve that problem!
I've included a preview of the final animation with some sound, just some squishing/slapping sounds for now, but it's not terribly good... it's been tough working with a choppy preview in the sequencer while rendering. There's no bed mattress sounds, cloth/skin moving sounds, etc but I'll be putting those in soon.
Honestly, I don't know if I'll have any new stuff, like new animation/modeling type things going on for a few days because of waiting for the topping renders (again), adding sound, etc...
