The term is kekkei genkai. It is a genetic predisposition that allows for the use of unique jutsu. Dojutsu (ocular/eye-related jutsu) are specifically classified as kekkei genkai because it is passed from generation to generation through DNA. The Uchiha clan's Sharingan is once such jutsu. There is a reason why Kakashi has a Sharingan eye that is explored later on in more depth (i.e backstory). The Sharingan also has to be developed and matured over time. That's why Sasuke (being an Uchiha) doesn't have it at present. Haku's ice mirrors is an example of advanced nature combination (i.e. combining water & wind to create ice). This can be achieved after intense training over a long time, but it's easier when it's a kekkei genkai because it comes naturally.
2020-04-05 08:05:01 +0000 UTCYEP what an absurd recap length lol. iirc that sort of long recap never happens again in the non-filler episodes. i think the reason that recap was there was because the show was starting to get popular and more people were tuning in so they needed to be up to speed. also sometimes they pad for time on an episode or 2 so they can put more resources into making future episodes even better quality
