2020-04-27 00:05:03 +0000 UTCI'm pretty sure the whole bit with all of them fighting a disguised Iruka as a "preliminary test" was the Mixed Filler part. Also to clarify, the Land of Wind isn't a village, it's another country where the Hidden Sand village is located. Similar to how the Hidden Leaf village is in the Land of Fire. And Rock Lee's squad is a year older then our main crew (they were part of the previous graduating class, so Naruto and the others haven't met them)

Some filler is good, some is bad and I don't think most people mind if others watch it, it's just that it's not recommended to watch it where it's placed in the series for the reasons you mentioned. However, and people will likely tell you this as you approach it, episode 101 is a filler and you should 1000% watch it/react to it rather than waiting on it
