⭐Dragon Ball Episodes 39-40: Watch Along & Analysis

Comments

Bullets have never affected Goku, not since the very first episode. They don't work when Launch shoots Krillin and Master Roshi either.

Just reiterating this is just my opinion sorry for the wall haha.

Ok sorry this is going to be a bit long but TL;DR Pros and cons of Kai versus regular with no spoilers in my personal opinion. I love the original but it is flawed maybe you’ve noticed this a bit in dragon ball during the muscle tower stuff but have you noticed that in the middle of the fights it cuts away to the little girl in the village just staring out the window wishing Goku is safe. Well they are basically just padding the episode with that it gets a lot worse in dragon ball z. Later during fight scenes it shots are recycled to fill out time. The same landscape being panned across the same flurry of blows in the exact same order it gets a little bogged down sometimes. Such as the longest fight scene ive ever known in anime 30 episodes 10 hours and if it’s 2 episodes per week the over 3 nearly 4 months of a single fight you will literally forget the beginning before it ends haha but even with all that I love it the filler stuff brought a lot of things I love about it. Kai is 169 episodes I think and regular is 291. That’s something to consider as well. If it were me and I was only watching 2 episodes per week definitely go with Kai and maybe add the important filler stuff in. If you were binging the entire thing in like 3 months I would say do the original but Kai is better paced and is a bit more accurate to the source material. Also if you do Kai something i would consider is not watching the opening scenes until the major villains of each arc have been defeated then go back to watch them. They will definitely spoil things.

Honestly I wouldn't even watch DBZ Abridged until your completely done with DBZ because there are alot of jokes that reference future episodes of DBZ within the abridged series. So not only will you not understand those jokes but their are alot of spoilers. Some might make the argument that other reactors have reacted to the Abridged series without knowing anything about DBZ because it does a pretty good job of showcasing major plot points. But I believe those reactors had no intention of reacting to the original DBZ Series.
