I'm surprised you didn't mention how Goku grew, he isn't as naive anymore, I feel like him realizing general black was lying to him is a huge step, if this happened earlier in the series I feel like Goku would have given up the balls to him and trusted general black would help find the rest and let Goku ask for his wish.

The original Dragon Ball Z (US version mind you) is very very different compared to the manga. They changed the audio and a lot of the dialog to be like a 4Kidz version. A lot of the fillers in original DBZ run also contradict canon information in the later series. Funimations version is not as bad as Ocean but they are both terrible in my opinion compared to the manga and Kai versions. Even the new DBZ Kakarot game (more based on manga version) is more faithful to the actual series than the original Dragon Ball Z run in US. The Dragonball version your watching is using dialog closer to the original series (some changes but not drastic like original US DBZ run) and the original soundtrack. I would personally prefer Kai due to dialog being closer to manga and most of the useless filler that contracts the manga is removed.

Quattro

yes please watch the orginal dragon ball z and not dbz kai

I like the Dragonball series because it was my saturday morning cartoons and for that half hour before soccer it was what I could watch to relax and psych me up for the game. It eventually came on as after school cartoons as well.I could probably say that along with Pokemon and YuGiOh it got me into my love of anime. In regards to the Dragonball movies (not DBZ) there is one that finishes on the Red Ribbon arc and has a bit of a different end. If you are not going to watch it (honestly wouldn't blame you since the DBZ movies are much better made than the dragonball ones, just my opinion) at least see how that movie ends and the climax with goku. It is definitely an exception in my mind and shows what Goku may be capable of in the future. Also emotional haha. On DBZ, it is a bit of a tone change. a bit more serious and more focus on the fights than the different adventures. Also my opinion on DBZ vs DBZ Kai would be to go OG DBZ and if you want to watch Kai afterwards do that. Some of the voice actors change for Kai and I could never truly accept it even though I had nothing against them. Also you can experience all of Z, even if it has some longer fights and filler. You can experience the original the way it was meant to be and we can always let you know if there is any filler you absolutely need to avoid. Also the DBZ abridged series is based on the OG as well and if you want to get the most out of it I would say watch the OG as you first experience.

Yeah, I've kinda been hoping she would since season one.

You should react to the DB outro at least once. I look forward to it at the end of every episode.

Yeah! I've never really noticed it before, but Goku's last resort move seems to be just going through his opponent, which always seem to be robots.

I love every Dragon Ball series for a different reason, , but OG Dragon Ball is my all-time favorite anime/manga because I love how adventure, action and super crude humor is so effortlessly mixed in to create just a fun series. Dragon Ball also has some of the most creative character designs and plot points imo! I could rant for hours about this series haha

if you are a big fan of dragonball i highly recommend watching Dragonball Z 291 episodes instead of DBZ Kai around 160 something episodes which take out some great filler and the voice acting in kai is worse than in original dbz. I also think it would be great if you do original dbz, that you maybe watch 3 episodes per week instead of 2 because it would take 3 years for you to complete it if you only watch 2 episodes per week. I think many people would prefer if you watched dbz original over a 2 year period rather than a 3 year period. And also remember you still have Dragonball GT around 64 episodes and Dragonball super 131 episodes plus all the movies from all of the shows left aswell. Sincerely a huge dragonball series fan :)

I think Dragonball has many good qualities. Son Goku is really cool as a character. Sympathetic, funny, nice but also ambitious. He fights for the good. Dragonball is still not a one-person show. There are numerous interesting and multifaceted characters. Bulma, Krillin, Yamcha or Muten Roshi and that's not all. Which continue to develop over the course of the series. I could write a lot more now. How entertaining the story is, the development from Arc to Arc or that the series covers all the emotions you have. I hope that doesn't count as a spoiler, but you haven't even seen my highlights in many areas.
