Comments

each island is an arc of the series, and when the arc is coming to its conclusion there is usually a recap of events. PS. i agree with Erics previous comment about defeating mr.3. Instinct FTW (same for fact of the week)

one piece is my favorite anime of all.

I really like the scene where Luffy correctly guesses which Mr. 3 was the real one. There are different ways to translate japanese to english, it is often the translator's interpretation, and there can be very slight changes in meaning from word choice. In my preferred translation of that scene, Mr. 3 says "A brute like you who acts on instinct cannot catch us" And then Luffy hits him and when asked how he knew, responds "Instinct." Saying "A hunch" has almost the same meaning, but it isn't as apparent that Luffy won because of what Mr. 3 was disparaging him for. Acting on instinct. Okay. Are you ready for the fun fact of the week? This is from the very first SBS (Shitsumon o Boshū Suru which means "I'm taking questions") and I think is very important and interesting to know about. Q: How come Luffy never kills his enemies? Oda: Hmm! That's a very good question. Why doesn't Luffy kill his enemies? Because in that era, everyone uses their lives to fight for their dreams. For an enemy, when their dream has been shattered, it is the same as losing a fight, and as painful as death. I believe, for a pirate not to kill an enemy, it's giving them a 2nd chance to fight for their dreams. So there you go! Luffy doesn't kill his enemies because he doesn't want to. He crushes their dreams and ambitions and that is usually enough to truly defeat them. That is why he does things like taking Don Krieg's 'Unstoppable' attacks and making a point of destroying his 'Unbreakable' armor. Or showing Arlong that a human can mimic what a Fishman is capable of by taking his teeth. I'm sure you can think of other examples, and will see more as the series continues! This has been your Fun Fact of the week! Enjoy the episode!

Oh as an edit i did forget to say that i am enjoying the show so far, alot of sad and happy moments, it only gets more interesting each arc and i love it so unique, whats funny is that before i actually tried watching the show i actually didnt want to watch it cause i didnt care for the animation style like how the characters look like shape ect. But im sooo glad i changed my mind cause now im hooked and the style grew on me and i dont care about it anymore
