First, I think one of the big reasons garra is such a popular character is because he is truly a product of his environment. No one cared about him, his parental figures gave him a bastardized concept of love and then he was left alone with it. That is what makes his conversation between himself and Naruto so powerful, gaara really doesn't know what love is and is genuinely confused by Naruto. Then Naruto gives him the perfect explanation that is based on his own revelations which started with Haku and Zabuza, great stuff. Also, Liam O'brien voices gaara in the dub and he is amazing.
Second, Gamakichi has a Brooklyn accent in the dub and it is hilarious.
Third, Part of me thinks Hiruzen chose to cut Orochimaru's hands out of mercy. Because he cut his chakra that means even if Orochimaru regains use of his hands he still can’t weave hand signs and is therefore beyond the use of his obsession(... to an extent).
Also, pour one out for Sarutobi Sensei, he was an OG Hokage and died as he lived (protecting his family). Lawful Good to the very end.
Fourth, edgy boy Itachi is here. Ladies shield your eyes… seriously though those things will literally give you nightmares for the rest of your life. That's not hyperbole.
Fifth, in my opinion the difference between a good ending and a great ending is: a good ending resolves the conflict but a great ending does something that can only happen in that moment. This is why I love fights like the one between gaara and Naruto, because the fight is necessary for gaara’s character development. Naruto wasn’t just punching him he was stripping him of his emotional barriers and once Gaara had been reduced to a state of emotional vulnerability he was able to fully take in the weight of Naruto’s words.
Sixth, lightning is weak to wind, wind is weak to fire, fire is weak to water, water is weak to earth, and earth is weak to lightning.
Finally, one thing that I think Naruto does exceptionally well is its sense of legacy. You really feel like each generation is distinct from one another.

Both foxes and raccoons are associated with the supernatural and spiritualism and the demonic in Japanese history, but that's about it.

The Curse Mark activates when Orochimaru's near? No, despite MANY similarities, he's not Voldemort. Kakashi said the seal was dependent on his own will, so what we saw was Sasuke releasing it of his own accord. And that's important, which is why I clarified.

There's a bit of a plothole in the Orochimaru fight. It's implied he tried to summon the 4th Hokage, but this shouldn't have been possible because the soul of the 4th was already sealed by the Death God when he sealed the nine-tails into Naruto 13 years ago. Since this is kind of important later it's a bit of a significant oversight.

no filler for a bit, only ones in the "near" future are episode 97 and 102-106. 101 is also filler but 100% of people will want you to react to it because it's great. im sure you'll get more reminders of that stuff once you get closer

Oh man, what a stretch of episodes to get to binge. I’ll have to go do it later tonight but I’m very excited.
