For the first one: depends. If there was any kind of urgency to it I might but I doubt I could bring myself to do it on a whim. For the second one: the Gold-Gold fruit, it would allow me to control and with training reform gold in any way I see fit. I got the inspiration from a Naruto character and figured that kind of ability would be useful to a pirate who actively tries to surround themselves with gold. Gold dust to use it like Garra, gold liquid to use like katara, and gold coins to serve as mock bullets.

Hello future people! I'm writing this up on my birthday so I'll pick one about one of my favorite scenes. But first, lets start with the brand new FFotW jingle!
♫ The Strawhats sail the Grand Line, ♪
♪ adventure is what they seek, ♫
♫ but what do we look forward to? ♪
♪ It's the Fun Fact of the Week! ♫
D: I have a question. On Volume 12, page 31, (Episode 53 for you Kat) what is that "sailing ceremony" they do? Pen Name: Vivi Fanclub No. 17
O: What they did was use their heels to crack open a barrel of beer to celebrate their entrance into the Grand Line. You could call it a "One Piece-Style Sailing Ceremony". I wanted to draw some more about it, but I really wanted to call the 100th chapter "The Legend has Begun", so I was in a hurry to make ends meet. Pretty cool, huh?
Now, about a real "sailing ceremony":
Before they begin building the ship, there is a "building ceremony".
Once the ship is fully built, there is a "completion ceremony".
And when it finally goes to sea, there is a grand "sailing ceremony".
In other words, the "sailing ceremony" is the biggest and most exciting celebration of the birth of a ship. To celebrate, you break a bottle of liquor on the bow of the ship, and if the bottle doesn't break, the ship is cursed with bad luck. It's a time of celebration, but the person who actually does the breaking has to take it seriously. I've even heard that in Viking "sailing ceremonies" they spilled blood on the ship from a live sacrifice. Yikes!
There you go. It's not a scene that is made that big a deal of in the grand scheme of the story. But that One Piece style Sailing Ceremony is one of my favorite scenes in One Piece. The fact that all the main characters state their dreams as they leave their home ocean for the Grand Line is one of the big scenes that unites those 5 Strawhats as the core of their new family! I'm looking forward to seeing it in the live action Netflix version. I'm assuming they'll end the first season with that scene. But anyway! Time to get this show on the road! Now we've seen what Chopper can do! A seven form transforming interesting Reindeer? There is no way Luffy will leave Drum Island without Chopper joining right? Only a little more to go for this arc, so lets get into it!
PS- "Theres no way none of them noticed Wapol go in." or so you said something along those lines last week. Heh. He went in at 14:33 but it seems you didn't notice. It was in the background, he tiptoed in while everyone was watching Chopper's fight.

Questions for the Geeks time YEAH!!!!!
Question#1: If you found a devil fruit would you eat it? (Keep in mind you do NOT know what power the devil fruit has, and you will lose the ability to swim as is standard.)
Question #2: if you could choose a power to gain from a devil fruit, what power would you want? (standard weaknesses apply.)

Since Shanks has been on the mind I want to talk about him. He is my second favorite character in the show. We don’t get to see him often but every time we do see him his scenes just oozes with character and subtext. You learned the entire history between Shanks and Hawkeye just by watching a single 2 minute conversation. On top of that we get the sense that Shanks is more than we were initially led to believe since Hawkeye(as of right now the strongest character introduced into the show) is treating him like an equal. The fact that Oda could do that in such an indirect way is still very impressive to me.

Ok going on your mention of named attacks(a staple of many shounen anime) and Silent Erics fact about Odas love of puns (MUHAHAHA your Facts only make me stronger Eric).
Zoros attack moves have a creture theme OR, are puns depending on how the japanese words are put together.
For example: Zoros signature move "Oni Giri" translates to Ogre/Demon Cutter. "Onigiri" is also the name of rice ball snacks in Japan. (you know, those white snacks with the black square that you see in almost ANY anime, that's Onigiri.)
Here are a few more examples
Yaki Oni Giri: Burning/Flaming Ogre/Demon Cutter OR Grilled rice ball
Tatsu Maki: Dragon Twister/Tornado OR a type of sushi.
most of the puns are food (and more specifically sushi) related, which is strange considering his relationship with Sanji. (an accomplished chef)
All of the Straw hats have their own quirks (be it reference or even language) when it comes to fighting techniques (note Sanji use of French during the combo move with Luffy) but i will get into the others at a later date.
