⭐Naruto Episodes 108-109: Watch Along & Analysis

I think a lot of people are too harsh on Sasuke here. Abandoning the village and his friends? Yes, bad. But he just got out of a coma where he was forced to watch his family die on repeat for 24 hours. Like, clearly he's not okay. He needs some serious help in regards to his mental health, but none of the adults are properly looking out for him. The torture he experienced isn't really addressed by anyone. Sasuke just saw how powerful Itachi was compared to him, and how being in Konoha hasn't helped him in bridging the gap of strength between him and his brother. The kid feels worthless and weak, and Kakashi tells him that he should just forget about the man who betrayed him and murdered his family (I completely understand what Kakashi means when he tells Sasuke 'forget about revenge,' but in Sasuke's mind, Itachi deserves to pay for what he's done and right now he's roaming free, hurting other people. It's probably extremely insulting to him that no one else seems to care about catching him.) He's only thirteen, and he's being manipulated by both Itachi and Orochimaru, not to mention that Curse Mark that's still on his shoulder, no doubt contributing to his negative feelings. Anyway, just thought I'd give my two cents on Sasuke's character, because he's really complex and a lot of people dislike him, so they don't bother to look deeper into his feelings/motivations.

Most people notice orochimaru’s power hungry nature but orochimaru was also affected by the death of nawaki he realised how easily a life is gone and he saw his unfulfilled dream as the worst thing that could happen and then he wondered about immortality.

For the sound 4 I would put the big one and the two headed one as mid level Chunin (5-B) while the spider one and the girl are high level Chinin (5-A). Keep in mind they are in the process of being groomed by Orochimaru so I think all four of them are shaping up to be Jonin in the making.

So from what I understand Sakura generally gets a bit of flak for how she acts in this episode. Here are my thoughts: I think some of the subtext could have been a tad more clear(at least in the version I watched I haven't read the manga) but aside from that I think it is an emotional scene. She tried to talk him out a bad situation but got emotional and started saying anything she could to get a response. most of the time I don't get it when people complain about an action that the story goes out of its way to show it is not a rational choice(angry yes but not complain). I will say one of my only big criticisms with Naruto is that sometimes I feel the subtext can get a little muddled. Like there are plenty of times were the scene is very deep but the words themselves can be easily misconstrued to mean the wrong thing. At least in my opinion.

I can sum up my thoughts on Sauske choosing to leave the Village with a Kakashi quote from episode 5, English Dub. “In the Ninja World those who break the rules are scum but those who would abandon their Comrades are worse than scum”.

In general, even though the Leaf is severely down on man-power, I seriously doubt Tsunade thought an entire enemy squad could just waltz in and wander the village unseen. Definitely wouldn't want to "waste" someone like Kakashi or an ANBU on 24/7 Sasuke surveillance within their own walls. Also, it's only implied but Kakashi went out of his way while leaving the village for a mission to check on them at the hospital, so he was already super late talking to Sasuke in that tree. Mans has been running missions constantly since he woke up. As far as the "date", I don't know that she really implied or he really inferred that it was any kind of actual date, like in any way romantic. Naruto's dense, but he clearly knew that wasn't what was happening immediately so I don't really think of it like her being unintentionally mean or stringing him along. More just that she needed to talk and offered to do it in a way that he might be comfortable with, which is actually nice of her...and completely headcanon.
