The exceeds said the Dorma Anim was once used many years ago when humans attached their first home of Extalia and the sky turned black . They also said that this was when the world first experienced its magic power shortage. Notice anything during the closing moments of the last episode when the dragon slayers were fighting him? Maybe something in the air flowing towards the Dorma Anim? Coming up, we get to see the return of some old friends. Get ready for some fun action featuring everybody. We also get let into Jellal's final plan (yes, Edo-Jellal). His plan maybe worse for the world in general than anything thus far. Food for thought. I know this has been shorter than my usual comments so I'll leave you with this tidbit. If this world is running low on magic power, and natural things like the floating Islands or air rivers are being held up by magic power, what do you think will happen to the world after everything I've just said? Easiest way to understand the Mystogan/Jellal situation is simply that he is the Edolas version of the Jellal that Erza grew up with. Just like we have Edo-Natso and Edo-Lucy. He came over to Earthland as a child to seal the Anima portals & took the new name Mystogan in order to distinguish himself from Earthland's Jellal. This also allowed him to not draw attention to himself. On another note, you mentioned again the mystery behind the Dragons going missing in 777. There is a bit of info to this you missed way back in the Phantom Lord Arc. Ask a mod if they consider this a spoiler but since it showed up back then I don't feel so. But when Lucy confronted her father and left with her friends, she first went to her mother's grave. On the gravestone, we learn that Layla Heartfilia passed away in 777.

Your freakout over Jellal/Mystogan/Mystogan/Jellal was very funny to witness. Remember when Mystogan traveled with Wendy when they were younger, he told her that his name is Jellal. So his name IS Jellal, he is Edolas Jellal. He just started going by Mystogan in Earthland because he learned that the Earthland Jellal was a wanted criminal trying to revive the black wizard Zeref. Also important to note that only dragon slayers could hurt the Dorma Anim. This is the first hint we get that dragons are impervious to all magic unless it's from a dragon slayer. Gajeel is top-tier character, one of my top five favorite guys in the series. Him wanting a cat so desperately was the beginning of my soft spot for him. And we got to see more of Wendy's enchantments in action! Support should never be overlooked.
