Happy New Year! It's a new year, but the same old Fun Fact of the Week! This week I have one for Mr. 2 Bon Clay, known in Japanese as Bon Kurei, and the rest of Crocodile's deadly ladies. Here we go!

D: Hello! Odacchi! I've noticed something incredible!! About Mr. 2 Bon Kurei. Why Mr. 2 Bon Kurei has that codename! The men have a number, and the women have events... so Mr. 2 is the male part, and Bon Kurei (Bonkure, the end of the Bon festival.) is the female part, because he's an okama, right?
O: That's right. The female agents' names are, in order, the happiest events of the year. So first;
#0 is All-sunday (all the sundays of the year).
#1 is Doublefinger (New Years; 1/1, so two pointer fingers aka doublefinger)
#2 is Mr. 2 Bon Kurei (Bonkure)
#3 is Golden Week (Golden Week, a week off in May.)
#4 is Merry Christmas
...and that's how it works. I seem to have confused everyone with Double-finger.
So there we have it! Not only the explanation behind why Mr. 2 doesn't have a partner, but also why he has the Mr. 2 codename but also the Bon Clay part. And as a bonus, what Doublefinger and All-Sunday means, and the thought behind why they are ranked! You may wonder why Christmas is so low compared to the other holidays, and that is because Christmas isn't as big a deal in Japan.
But anyway, time for me to break out my Silent Soapbox and talk about last week's episodes. First up, Toto;
"Don't you recognize me? I suppose it can't be helped, I did lose some weight." The emotional weight and that actor's delivery really hit me too. It's outstanding. The inclusion of Toto adds so much of a human element to this story. It puts a human face on the victims of Crocodile's scheme. And then Luffy learning about the importance of water and the hard work it takes to get it here in Alabasta. Meeting Toto and seeing him struggle is part of what leads to his anger against Crocodile as well as the Vivi and Luffy fight. That is probably my favorite episode in this whole arc!
Next up, the odd way Miss Merry Christmas talks. It took me a while to understand what Miss Merry Christmas is doing. She is so impatient that she shortens words. Shortens words. She Shords! Shords! Meanwhile her partner taaaaaalks... veeeery... slooooow... So she often gets upset with him.
Finally, lets talk about Okama and Oh Come My Way. Okama can mean a few things in Japanese, but in One Piece it mostly refers to transvestites and drag queen culture. Mr. 2 makes a lot of references and jokes pertaining to Okama, such as his Oh Come My Way song, which of course sounds like he is talking about his Okama Way of life. Toei Animation decided not to use the term Okama despite it being in the manga. They replaced it with Ballerina or Ballet instead for a long time. But all that is complex and is just a long roundabout way of saying:
Mr. 2 Bon Clay is great. Okay, let's start the episode!

ok time for some answers.
Chibi shorts? yes some chibi shorts come up later in the series, based on artwork from Oda. (F.eks: a scenario where the monster trio, are mafia dons having a sitdown.)
Just want to note that in the manga, Ace never followed the crew into the desert. Meaning everything after torching the Baroque works fleet (with the exception of the mystery paper) is filler.

Also, if you are wondering why Ace left, let me remind you Blackbeard and four guys took on the entirety of Drum Island and got away with killing a high ranking officer on Whitebeard's crew(you know the guy with the second largest bounty in history). This makes Alabasta look like small potatoes by comparison. Plus, his brother is technically speaking a rival pirate and beyond that he wouldn't want to be a crutch for Luffy any more than he would want Luffy to be crutch for him.(I wouldn't think of it that way but Ace would)

Since the entire villain team is here I will dispense with my tiering. The remaining number agents are about 4-B except for Mr.1 and Miss All-Sunday who I would put at 4-A. If it came down to a straight up fight between the two of them I would favor Mr. 1 because his talents are combat oriented but in literally any other circumstance I favor Miss All-Sunday.
Crocodile I put at about 3-C making him probably the ‘weakest’ Warlord. Though this specific circumstance definitely enhances him to 3-B or even 3-A because of the nature of his power. Making him about a tier and a half to two tiers ahead of the strongest straw hats... No pressure.
