⭐Naruto Episodes 135 & 220: Watch Along & Analysis

It's been so long since I watched the filler episodes between 135 and 220 of OG Naruto that I couldn't tell you which ones were worth watching. I only watched through it all once despite having seen both original Naruto and Shippuden multiple times.

The Only Naruto Filler episode i care about are 216 till 220. Anything els is not worth watching (my Opinion).. But to be honest more excited for Shippuuden to start.

Yeah I wholly think you should watch 119 and 120 first, because I don't like the place the anime put them for reasons. So I put it that way on the watch order I gave them, but it is a pain to skip the OP since it starts off the episodes. I'd be fine either way.

Also, I was away for a bit so here is the updated tiering: Each of the sand ninja are about a third of a tier stronger than they were before (5-b to older siblings and 5-a to garra) and kimimaro is 4-b in his normal form and tier 4-a in his curse mark form. And the black and white guy from the Akatsuki is a tier 4-c making him the weakest member by at least a full tier. Also also, one detail I really like that I didn’t get to comment on is that team 7 is basically a mirror image of his Sasuke's family unit. Competitive brother, companionate care giver, reserved father figure. I imagine part of the reason he left was because in his mind he is avoiding the emotional trauma of potentially loosing a second family.

It wasn't explained in the episodes you watched but at some point during the fillers (141 I think)there was a canon scene where Sakura approached Tsunade and asked her to be trained in medical ninjutsu. Now she training under the greatest medical professional in the world. And the thing I love about it is that it fits in perfectly with her character. I watched the show a bit out of order so when I saw her going to the hospital for the first time to look after Lee and Sasuke I really felt the significance of such a small moment. It was her first step to becoming a medic and I love looking back on it every single time. Plenty of people love the hair cutting but to me that is the definitive Sakura moment pre shippuden. I don't care what people say she wasn't born to be a fighter she was born to be a healer. So you best prepare yourselves my girl is about dress to impress from here on out.

In my opinion watching them in a weird order is part of the fun. I watched stuff like Naruto, Game of thrones, and dragon ball wayyyyyyy out of order and got a lot of interesting reactions to a lot of different stuff. My reactions were totally unique. Even now I am not entirely sure if I have seen all the canon Naruto episodes. But its not my show so whatever happens is whatever's best for it.

This is my favorite interaction between Shikamaru and Temari, she's hard on him and is critical of the bad mindset he is falling into. But the moment his dad starts drilling him, Temari's expression suddenly changes to worry. Its one of the prime examples of her truly being a deeply caring person.

In terms of airing, OG Naruto basically rolled over right into the airing of Shippuden, there wasn't a big break or anything. However, the time between the airings of episode 135 and 220 was almost 2 years (85 weeks), so if you looked at it from that perspective and you didn't enjoy the fillers at the time, then it basically was like Naruto was gone for 2 years haha. Also, regarding the people who suggested watching Shippuden 119 and 120 before episode 1 (I assume that's what you were referring to), it's probably best to just watch it in normal episode order. It stems from the fact that the manga put out those short chapters between Naruto Part 1 and 2, but it really isn't required to view it that way, you're not missing out on much by just waiting until it pops up in the anime. I know The Normies ended up watching it in the manga order, but they had someone who was familiar with Naruto that was able to give them an edit of the episodes without the OP/ED/Previews so they didn't get spoiled. Doing it without someone helping is kind of tedious because you would need to scroll through a bunch of episodes you havent seen to actually get to 119/120

Only recommendation I have personally is the 1st movie. All the movies are sort of a fun time to watch with friends, but the 1st one is the only one that gets any actual hype out of me (could be nostalgia though, I saw it in theaters as a kid). None of the movies are canon except for 1 of them (which is very far away from where you are now), but they can be interesting to watch since it's essentially high-budget side stories. I dont personally care for most of the filler episodes, but I know there are people who do and that's cool

216 - 220 (first half) Gaara's Growth and Fight. These are the only Fillers worth watching for me.. But more excited for Shippuuden to be honest.

Filler Suggestions: Episodes 148-151 silly little mission with Team 8, some nice Hinata stuff Episode 161 the height of single episode filler nonsense, completely ridiculous Episode 168 a Naruto-style cooking/gourmet anime episode if you're into that Episode 193, 195-196 Lee and Gai shenanigans
