love how emotional you are i feel the same! I know I'm behind on your one piece reactions, but I agree this show has change my life. Luffy is my goal to have his attitude. If it wasnt for anime i wouldn't be who I am.

the sort of tournament (some might call a competition), if you are thinking of a certain split head, thats next NEXT arc. you forgot a very important trip "up north". (nex, next NEXT arc if you count the little stop off before heading to you know where. Man trying to do this while also avoiding spoilers is tricky.)

Chopper actually does have a visible scar. He has one of his antlers attached by a little metal plating from when he risked his life to get the mushroom for Hiriluk.

Hey hey people, Fun Fact of the Week here. So, the battle for Alabasta has started. As the show said so poetically last week, there are a lot of factions and moving parts, all coming together at the capitol, with the lives of so many on the line! But while the everyone is getting into place, lets find out a bit about the true heroes of Alabasta. The Supersonic Duck Squadron, also known in Japan as the Super Spot-Billed Duck Troops members! This SBS had an accompanying picture, so I'll describe them in (parenthesis) for you.
♫ The Strawhats sail the Grand Line, ♪
♪ adventure is what they seek, ♫
♫ but what do we look forward to? ♪
♪ It's the Fun Fact of the Week! ♫
D: This is a question from a Tokyo-area 28 year old male (working in the manga editor field). I would like to know the names of all the Super Spot-Billed Duck Troops members. Oda-sensei, I simply MUST know. T-they're so cute... I know this must be very hard for you, but please... do it for me.
O: Hey! Hey!! Hold on just a dang tootin' minute. I know who you are. You're that former One Piece editor with a weakness for cute things, working for a certain Jump editorial department, Da-asa or Asada or whatever, right?! You, sir, are relentless. And now you're sending business questions to the SBS via email?! This is supposed to be sacred ground for my readers... ah, well. Oh but, thanks for helping me out for those 4 years. In any case, since OTHER people have asked this too, I'll answer it. The bottom row, starting from the left, is Cowboy (cowboy hat and angular glasses. He always seems to be relaxed, no matter the situation), Bourbon Jr.(round sunglasses, a white hat, and a bottle around his neck), Karoo(You know the captain of the squad), Kentauros(smokes cigars, wears a dark Roman legionary's helmet, and always seems angry), and Hikoichi(conical Asian hat, who has a rather surprised look on his face). The top row is Stomp (reversed cap, and a very timid expression on his face. He is also very thin) and Ivan X (The largest of the Troops. He wears a horned helmet with brown goggles). That's all. I had the names all established, but putting them all in the manga would be too hard to figure out, so I decided not to.
And there you have it. All the Supersonic Ducks have names, and even have birthdays, ages, measurements, and blood types. All that extra stuff was revealed in the One Piece Visual Dictionary much later though, and assuredly isn't important. But when writing the story, Oda at least had names for the Duck Squad, and even went through the trouble to make each one look unique, something many other artists don't really bother to do for side character animals. It's pretty admirable I think. But lets move on to the recap.
You asked if One Piece has a tournament arc? Yes, not for a long while though. There's kind of one in the next arc, but not a traditional tournament.
So, Nico Robin huh? Nico Robin didn't actually kill Pell those episodes ago when she "CLUTCH!" looked like she broke his neck. So she saved Luffy, and non-lethally took down Pell back when she took Vivi to Crocodile's lair. She easily could have killed him then, but left him alive. And it seems she didn't even kill Mr. 8, Igaram, way back when she blew up his ship even though she told Vivi that she did before offering them a hidden shortcut to Alabasta. But despite all that, she IS helping Crocodile with his plan, and she didn't seem to try to save the Strawhats when they were in the sinking water deathtrap. What does all this mean? Whose side is she on?!
The diversion tactic was a great moment. It was really clever, and narratively does a good job to set up all the individual fights the Strawhats now have to do, instead of one big confusing brawl. Good job Oda.
Vivi screaming in a sand cloud would have to really hurt. But despite that, her desperate pleas were drowned out by the cries of war. So mission failed. The war has started. People are dying. Vivi couldn't save everyone. What will she do now? Well, luckily Usopp came to save h- oh wait.
Good job catching Mister 2 Bon Clay faster than last time. Usopp always called Karoo by name. Saying 'That Bird' made Vivi suspicious. And the secret sign Zoro came up with confirmed it. Were you surprised that the secret sign wasn't just the wrap? It was a mark that was underneath. Showing the cloth would only confirm it was Bon Clay. What an amazing misdirection even for the viewers. Two great misdirections in one episode! But that's enough from me, lets get into this week's episodes!

Episodes to new OP: 4
Episodes until you can safely watch new OP: 19
and now for my thoughts.
When it comes to spoilers in OP, i think it is simply because most anime (especially shounen anime) start as manga or light novels. Many fans of an anime are likely fans of the manga first, so they already know everything thats going to happen. Which means it's not really spoilers.
Also when it comes to scars only very notable ones tend to stay. Otherwise the strawhats would just end up being covered in scars. (and just imagine trying to draw all those scars every time you draw a character)
Notable scars (so far) include.
Luffy: cheek scar, which is shown in the manga. From when Luffy stabbed himself as a child to prove his bravery to Shanks crew. (this happened before the bar scene, where Luffy ate the gum-gum fruit)
Zoro: chest scar from Mihawk, ankle scars from trying to cut his own feet off in little garden.
Nami: shoulder scars from knifeing herself during arlong arc. (properly treated and covered by tattoo)
Usopp: none, since he has seen very little combat, and the most major injury he suffered was being pummeled by Chu (Arlongs crewmate).
Sanji: None, Like Usopp most of Sanji injuries have been broken bones rather than slashes.
Chopper: Possible scars hidden by fur.

There is a reason they call it the "fog of war." In this case it was quite literal but the effect was the same. When you are on the battle field, things can get very confusing. It is why regular armies work in small squads, followed by larger platoons and regiments etc. that way a proper chain of command can be established and followed while not losing the ability to communicate orders from the top to the bottom. Here the entire army of 2 million is being led by 1 commander on the battlefield and maybe a few captains here and there but with no way to communicate orders to each other from an objective observation point.

So you're asking if there is a tournament arc,
Short answer : Yes, there is actually two of them. But, It's hard to consider them tournaments, they are more like competition.
The first one is in a few arcs while the second one is in the far futur (In about +600 episodes ). So you have time for this one.
