I knew you would enjoy it and Id be happy to answer your questions. The First Chapter you read was released Feb, 7 2002 and it is still ongoing with currently 290 chapters with one releasing about every month, It also doesn't seem like it will end anytime soon, so I'd say its pretty popular. It did get an anime however it only has one season cause the company that made it went under and the company that bought it haven't touched it. The anime ends at chapter 66.
