I’m an English lit nerd myself so I had so much fun spending a couple of hours pouring back over the lyrics of her songs and picking out the ones that impressed me as both a reader and a writer. There’s actually a TikTok channel I discovered recently from an English proph who goes into the nuances of her lyrical choices and points out why certain lines, word choices, rhyming schemes, etc are so unusual in the best of ways for a songwriter - especially a pop artist. It’s so interesting from an English language perspective. You can tell that Taylor is clearly a well-read woman.
