You know, the more you analyze this series the more impressed I am at how you pick up on so many things. Believe me, it took me quite some time before I was able to see everything that you pointed out almost immediately. Yet again, I’ve never been too good at the whole analyzing aspect of things, though I am trying to get better. Anyway, when it comes the whole SAO not having stakes, I genuinely do not know what people are talking about. Even if you take the Fairy Dance arc into consideration, (Apart from the whole Asuna thing) Sugo was researching how to manipulate people’s emotions and stuff through basically their soul and sell it to the US. That’s probably the lowest the stakes have been in SAO (Apart from Mothers Rosario). Now, if Kirito and Asuna screen time is what you want, believe me, Progressive is basically all about those two going through Aincrad together, along with a few other characters here or there. (One of them being one of my favorite characters in the series who has had a total of fortyish seconds of screen time in the main series as a whole). Speaking of favorite characters, you will finally properly meet my favorite character in AGGO. If I remember correctly, they don’t have much character development in this part (IDK about later, haven’t read it yet) but their eccentric personality really sells the character (For me at least). As for this series as an anime, there has been nothing hinting at there being a second season. Since it’s not made by A1 Pictures I can’t say if the studio is willing to make it anyway (This one was made by Studio 3Hz). A-1 is basically trying to get as much as they can out of this series so they will supposedly keep adapting SAO as long as Reki keeps writing it. Another studio might try adapting the other spin-offs eventually, but there has been nothing involving those yet. I’m guessing A-1 right now is just trying to adapt as much as they can while Unital Ring is being written. What I see them doing, and based off of some supposed leaked info, they will simply adapt all that’s currently out of progressive. It’s only floors 1-7 so there isn’t too much, but even then that is almost 8 volumes worth of content. For context the arcs that cover volumes 1-8 of the main series is all of season 1 and 2 plus a little more that was cut, or Alicization from the start up to where Asuna joins the war. Regardless, I doubt they will be working on any spin-offs anytime soon. Not too related to SAO, but since I’m the topic on A1 Studios, right now the studio is trying to promote another series that they are planning for it be their next SAO (As in how popular it became). The series in named “Eighty-Six” and like SAO it’s based on Light Novels. Reki even promoted it for a bit claiming he enjoyed the series as well. I’ve read the novels for it and it’s a really good series, though I am worried at how they will adapt it. If you ever feel like checking it out, it will be releasing this anime season on April 10. It is very different to SAO and involves more war and robots (Which thinking about it SAO had as well) but it is a very entertaining series. Now back to SAO. Like I’ve mentioned before, AGGO got a lot of praise from anime youtubers, but there were still people out there hating on it as usual since, you know, it’s still SAO. While watching it along on Crunchyroll, I scrolled down to the comments and found people like this hating on it. One of them said (Regarding to episode 6): “This episode has what is probably the most contrived and stupid plot I have ever seen.” Here’s another: “They are trying to recreate the tension of the first series But it's just another psychopath story. They could just get help for her and be done. The plot holes are huge for what I would expect from an SAO title. Disappointed.” For some reason that’s another thing people always bring up, SAO having a lot of plot holes. I personally don’t see what they mean, and every time I ask, I am given things that aren’t plot holes at all and are mostly things that have been explained at some point in the story. The biggest one I see everywhere is from season 1 when Kirito saves Yui by turning her into an in-game object. Everyone claims that he somehow became a genius hacker and was able to hack into the game to do that, and that if that was the case why couldn’t he have logged everyone out instead. What I don’t understand about that is that literally a minute or two before that scene Yui explained what the console is, and what she did to access It yet people still ignore that. Anyway, on this third rewatch I’m actually enjoying it more than I had originally. I feel like the way they kept comparing this show to the original made me not be able to enjoy it as much as I could. Hopefully I can catch up with the Light Novels, though I don’t know if the Japanese ones are still going since I think I remember it saying it was going to end soon, but that could’ve been the manga adaptation ending soon and not the novels. As a fun fact, the singer that LLENN keeps talking about and wanted to go see at her concert, is portrayed by a Japanese singer by the name of ReoNa. You might now her as the one who made the last opening for War of Underworld, but she first appeared in SAO through here. On Spotify you can even find Elsa Kanzaki (The singer portrayed by ReoNa) and listen to the songs LLENN is hearing. ReoNa is a really good singer, she even made the song for SAO’s 10th anniversary event titled “Till the End” and it was really good.
