There are 4 seasons in Yu Yu Hakusho to answer your question, though it's also fair to say you could probably split that down further into a number of smaller arcs within those seasons. The first season is a great example of that as you've already seen a number of mini-arcs dominate the story so far, e.g. Yusuke's death and revival, his mission to get the 3 spirit treasures back, the Genkai Tournament, and the beginnings of his quest to stop the 4 Saint Beasts. All are connected in that we're seeing Yusuke become more familiar with the supernatural and his role as spirit detective, but they're each their own distinct story too. The show tends to move towards somewhat longer storylines as it progresses and really finds it stride, but generally this model holds true. I'm really excited for you both to watch this last half or so of season 1 as it starts to give you a better feel for what to expect throughout the rest of the show in terms of structure and character. Also, I know it was somewhat spoiled for you by the intro, but Kurama and Hiei are officially on the team now! How will this arrangement play out and what will their dynamic as a team look like? Kurama has shown himself to be a team player and a generally good person already in his first appearance, but it's safe to say that Hiei hasn't displayed same that type of benevolence so far. Will Hiei fall in line and be a reliable ally at least, or will his more malicious side rear its head again? Why am I asking these questions when already I know the answers? 😅 Regardless, I'm looking forward to more reactions soon! 😉
