⭐Accel World Episodes 9 & 10: Watch Along & Analysis

Now, finally we have some more SAO connections, though it came up earlier than I expected. I don’t know if the subs were right for you on Hulu, but last time I checked they were wrong there as well. Anyway, the show mentions that the Armor of Catastrophe is a Reinforced Exterior, this isn’t the right translation. The proper translation that both the novels and the dub have for this armor and any item similar to it is Enhanced Armaments. I’m sure I don’t need to remind you what those are since they were quite prevalent in SAO, but it does bring up the question how the creator of Brain Burst knew about Enhanced Armaments since only people who were in the Underworld would really know about it. (That is assuming that it’s not a coincidence, but knowing Reki, I doubt it’s simple coincidence) Anyway, I’m not about to start theorizing here, especially since it would go to Unital Ring spoilers, but it is pretty interesting. Speaking of which, I’ve heard a few things here or there regarding Unital Ring that sounds like there will be more Slice of Life stuff coming to SAO. I won’t spoil them, but Reki did say he wanted to focus on the real world for the “final big arc” of SAO (That being Unital Ring). Oh right, one thing I wanted to mention was that, first, Reki has this show thing were they reveal stuff regarding his work (SAO, AW, The Isolator) and he was recently on there talking about the next Progressive volume (8) and showed off a new visual for it that was Kirito and Asuna in a Casino on Floor 7. Regardless of that, the more important thing was what he said afterward. He started talking of the next thing he was working on and although it would make sense for it to be AW since he just released SAO main series 25 and progressive 7 and 8, he instead mentioned he was working on Vol 26. The interesting part of it was a quote of his (It’s roughly translated, but multiple sources showed a similar thing). It doesn’t have any spoilers, but it definitely makes me hyped for what comes next. He said “At the time (SAO) series ends I want to show everyone’s future, (omission) in the next story of Unital Ring, it’s going to be a big deal throughout the world, it’s not going to be like the problem of school or exam, I feel like the level of terribleness is about 1/3 of Avengers Endgame, I wonder if everyone will be alright…” As for the Progressive movie, that hasn’t released yet. It will be out in fall (I think August). That means it won’t be out here till at least early next year, in theatres of course. If it does release in theatres, you know for a fact I’ll be first in line there. There will be an Aniplex event on July 3rd that is supposed to have an SAO: Progressive panel. Hopefully we get more information about the movie there. Anyway, back to AW. Niko’s character is one of my favorites. Although you get some stuff now, the later stuff that isn’t in the anime makes her character even better. Like I’ve mentioned before, it made me tear up a little. One thing you do have to keep in mind is that although their souls are ageing, their brains and body don’t (Obviously) so there’s a weird conflict there were a part of them is mature for their age seeing as they’ve been in the Accelerated world for so long, but the other part is still that of a child and that’s something that no aging of the soul can change. The maid character you mentioned should come into the forefront soon, she’s an interesting one as well. The next arc for Accel World, The Marauder Arc, should start around episode 13. The next opening is on episode 14. Now for this arc I’m truly waiting to see what you think of it. Like I mentioned before, I originally didn’t like this arc, but after reading it years later, I found myself really enjoying it. Like the previous arc, The Marauder Arc spans 2 books, volume’s 3 and 4. That’s also all the anime covers which sucks because the series honestly only gets better with every arc. On to the topic of the person Kuroyukihime was talking about. I won’t spoil it, of course, but also don’t expect to get an answer to that in the anime. I’m pretty sure you don’t get an answer until the latest arc of the series, so it’s still a long way away. I can confirm, however, that it has nothing to do with Kirito or any SAO thing (Well, kind of, maybe, I guess, but not really.) Also, Reki mentions that the turning point, or I guess like he puts it, the meat of the series, doesn’t happen until after volume 10. If they had continued making the anime with the same number of novels in each season, that wouldn’t be until like season 3. The “meat” of the story encompasses only 2 arcs, just like the anime. However, these two arcs are spread across 15 volumes. 5 for one arc and 10 for the other. (That also makes the latest AW arc just as long as Alicization was for SAO). I hope you are able to get to this point soon cause there are some revelations that are very exciting. Now for a quick fun fact. You asked when Haru’s birthday was, and the answer to that is, April 23rd 2033. (7 years after the end of Alicization).
