Ah yes. The "Next Dimension". Loved the Ocean dub for that. Without giving anything away for the Funimation, Ocean skipped a lot of scenes.

"What's Tien going to do about his hand?" "Can he grow it back?" Holy cripes, you don't know how funny that is for someone who grew up with the original English airing. You guys have the raw, uncensored stuff, but back on Toonami in the early days they went to HILARIOUS lengths to downplay death and injury, and in a 4Kids style manner went through a LOT of editing. Nappa blows the bejeesus out of East City? "Too bad it's Sunday, those buildings would have been full tomorrow..." Nappa blasts the news aircraft for existing? "My God, he blew up the CARGO ROBOT!" And the visceral resulting gore of the Saibamen being blown to bits or mangled was cut or repainted like crazy. And yes... when they couldn't deny Tien losing his arm, they added this crap line where he cries "You just wait until it grows back!" They even tried to pretend people being vaporized was them being "sent to another dimension..." or... I dunno, maybe they're referring to Other World and were just trying to spin "killed" in a wry, sarcastic way? It's not like anyone bought it in the first place...

So you think its gotten emotional and dark now.... We haven't even had both of them fighting yet and you are already traumatized. You are not ready for this series girls. When I first saw this as a little 10 year old Gray, I simply assumed that they were alluding to a characters backstory when they mentioned things like the tournaments. Little ways to world build. I never realized that there was a whole series behind it until much later. Get ready for more gut wrenching (sometimes literally) in the next episodes of Dragonball Z!

FINALLY! LET THE YAMCHA MEMES FLOW!

It's finally happened. All three of Chris Sabat's main characters together in one scene. Yamcha, Piccolo, and Vegeta. Yamcha's loss to the Saibaman solidified the meme of him being the weakest of all Z's main fighters. That shot of him in the crater is so popular, they've made officially licensed posters and STATUES of it. It's even become a pop culture reference in other anime and shows where characters that just straight up get their butts handed to them end up on the ground in the same pose. It's even appeared in a call back to the pose later on in an episode of Super.
