Animation length?
Added 2022-11-02 00:42:00 +0000 UTCI was wondering what everyone thinks about longer animations vs. shorter ones. In some ways, I enjoy doing shorter ones more because I can finish them in a reasonable amount of time, which means moving on to something else to explore new ground and learn/improve faster.
But I also like working on a longer, more complex animation... it can be more detailed and in-depth than a 30 second loop or a minute or so of lewd. But it can take a looot longer if there's a lot of fluids. And it might be challenging to maintain a consistent level of support (if I'm not finishing things, I think it would be harder to retain patrons!) so it might be a bad direction to go in at this point.
Or I could just keep doing what I've been doing. Now, there's a couple reasons I don't want to work on a longer animation while doing shorter ones:
1. I end up improving my skills doing shorter animations, and a rig/model that I made months ago isn't as good as it could be. Then, making big changes that could improve it would likely break the animation or something.
2. I feel bad if I take forever on something people are really anticipating, but it's taking longer because I'm also doing shorter animations.
Let me know what you think!
