Gyra game update + more opinions please!

So first of all, thanks for everyone who played and all the feedback! It was overall positive but man... I just felt like things were lacking and it was eating at me so I've done a few all nighters to make it a more enjoyable experience.

-Added death animation

-Added info text for getting stuff

-Added event system for basic cutscenes

-Improved movement (you have more a tendency to slide around actors when moving into them and if sliding fails you can push the actors)

-Redid animations

-Improved monster behavior

-Started a ring menu system (like Secret of Mana/Secret of Evermore)

-Started implementing stats more (not apparent in the game yet though, they don't do much for now!)

-Switched from a life bar appearing above monster to show damage to good old fashioned bouncing numbers. Just feels better seeing those numbers bounce after hitting something! And if you're wondering, yes there's bigger numbers for bigger damage!

-Bombs do a lot more damage, they're a one hit kill! So be careful using them. (Also I'm aware bombs don't respect the game pausing when using the ring menu, I need to get some sleep so I'll fix that later)

Also I've been thinking about the feedback about the monster design... I did some sketching.

 A few people weren't too fond of the mandibles... so maybe there shouldn't be any! Maybe they have some armor on. Idk, just some sketches. Let me know what you think. I think the no-mandibles look is a bit cuter/appealing in a lewd way but it does take away a lot of the insect-ness of them. I also have considered no mouth but... I want to have the lewd scene end with Gyra's jizz coming out of his mouth a bit! So there has to be a mouth. I'm split on it so please tell me whether you're team mandible or team no-mandible!

I've been working on other stuff too btw! Just been more so of this stupid game even though I said I was going to work on it as much... the feed back kept tickling my game-dev tendencies and I gave in to it...

On the title screen, click the "use keyboard" button. That will set the game to keyboard, I forgot to set keyboard as the default! I just made is so the game will set the controls to keyboard if no gamepad is detected (and will automatically set the controls to gamepad if one is plugged in) but a new build isn't quite ready. I was working on the menu and making it so the player can assign items/magic to the Y and B buttons but haven't finished that yet. I'll be sure to upload them, the Twitter/BSky are going to be the main spots to show off the models and breakthroughs in developments, since OJMann's OCs are mostly simple shapes with different body types, I don't imagine it'll be too hard to model them. Clothing I'll have to study, and sculpting things like cellulite, wrinkles, and muscles I'll have to study as well. But I'm sure I'll be able to find resources online for it, if no one else wants to assist. Then I'll have to understand more about topology, UV Mapping, and rigs to get everything just right! But back to your games, so I see, the Mountain Dew tentacles was more of a puzzle game at first, but that idea fell through. That's why I'm not sure about making whole puzzle games myself, cause I can't think of a gimmick that's unique and would be fun for the whole game, like Portal. Anyway, if the tentacles make their way into this game with Gyras, I think that would be cool, if not, I look forward to the other one as well. I like that the Mountain Dew one will take the RPG elements from Gyras game, while Gyras is now more of a iso-2D beat em up adventure now. It'll set your games apart, maybe some puzzles could be there to break the RPG parts up every now and then. One idea to give you, could there also be some tentacles that have lips to give Dew kisses? They could also be used for sucking as well~ 😏 And for the Gyras game, the game over screen is funny, it's kinda like a taunt but also some eyecandy as well lol. And I love that the boy bug is getting his fat cheeks creamed too ^^. The weekend can't come soon enough, can't wait to try the game out!

If there's another one >_> I'm trying to keep the scope of this thing under control! The mountain dew tentacle game didn't pan out, it wasn't fun (unless you're like me and like Myst 1-like games), the puzzle didn't make sense to people who I explained it to, I could never get a chance to record temp VA for the narrated lines/sex scenes and someone said the animation was twitchy on one of the animations and I was like "... eh, this just isn't it." Plus I suck at puzzle design... so it was doomed to fail from the beginning. However I have reworked some stuff from that project (the transition system and the way FMVs are handled) and if I did another area I'd rework the tentacle thing for use in an RPG context. I could even use or modify the main character's model somehow! Also good luck with moving out and starting to model you characters! If you want to share feel free to send some pics of your modeling!

I might just drop that idea and go with a layout that makes sense and is intuitive.

Lots of great improvements already! The sprint is very welcome for playing through it again haha. The menu layout graphic is still a bit confusing to me on gamepad, where the "A" button on the bottom of the controller maps to the visually top item. I keep wasting magic when trying to heal. The animations are a highlight as always of course

Maybe they can have small pinchers on the side? Or maybe retractable pinchers? Or maybe the mouth can go in a "W" pattern if you don't do pinchers, something like that? Will there be an option to choose between male/female, top/bottom for the friendly enemy? Also what does the game over screen look like? I'm honestly excited to see more about the game, I like seeing how there's a little move movement to the characters animations. Idk about anyone else but I think having an interactive product you're making makes things more engaging for me, although your alien animations have been really good lately too. I guess whatever the majority wants... I'll try this game out next weekend cause that's when I move out and can start modelling my characters. Question: is that Mountain dew tentacle game still available, or is it gonna be in this game at all?
