"The Legend of Vox Machina" Season 2 - Episode 2

Summary of each backstory: Pike and grog have a shared backstory she is from a family of charlatans but her grandfather found faith with seran rea, got out and took her with him. Then one day he was attacked by a band of barbarians who wanted to kill him but grog, who was one of them, objected and defended him. Then his uncle the leader of the herd beat grog to within an inch of his life and left him to die. But he was saved by Pike and they have basically been family since. Scanlan’s mother was killed by a goblin hoard and he has been traumatized over it ever since. He then joined a band of minstrels and has been wondering from place to place until ending up with his current band of rejects. Vex and vax are bastard children of an elf diplomat and a human peasant. They spent their formative years with their mother but their father took them to live with him in the elven city. They learned a lot of skills but eventually were fed up with their father and left to return to their mother only to find she had been killed in a dragon attack. They have been on the fringes of society ever since with vax stealing trinkets and vex raising a trinket of her own. We already know all of Percy’s backstory from last arc… but will there be more surprises????? Finally keyleth is the daughter of her Druid tribes chief. They are supposed to keep portals to the elemental plane in check and when they need a new leader they are supposed to send them on an aramente to each of the four tribes both as a way of keeping in touch and a test. Keyleth’s mother was the last to attempt and was never heard from again. Now it is her turn.

It was only a minute but it was a glorious minute. Victor the black powder merchant. Long may he learn from his mistakes. Anyway in the campaign this would be about episode 40 to 42 I believe. In the original campaign we were given a quick cliff notes on each of their backstories during the first season.(Fun fact: Liam and Laura have the same birthday irl so when they started playing they decided to make their characters actual twins).
