Some Updates
Added 2020-07-02 05:29:28 +0000 UTCNothing's changing, don't worry.
Now just feels like a good time to update everyone on my plans and what's been going on lately.
First! I've completely rebuilt Meet the Girls, my oc gallery, from scratch in Godot!
You can play that here: https://furrgroup.itch.io/meet-the-girls
The original version of Meet the Girls was built in Unity. If you wanna read about the changes in the latest version, I've made a changelog update here.
That's important because I've been focusing much of my time recently on learning how to use Godot. It's a game engine similar to Unity or Unreal, but it's completely open source and I personally find it much easier to navigate so far.
I want to reach a point with Godot that I can move away from my beloved visual novel engine, ren.py. This will allow me to make far more complex games such as 3d titles, adventure games, and more. I've been brainstorming a lot, so I'm going to list out a few of my current ideas below. There are no promises that any of these games will be made or that they will resemble their descriptions here in their final form, but I thought it'd be fun to let you all in on a couple of my ideas for Godot.
-Catgirl Care
I feel like this one is fairly obvious since I've been discussing it for a while. Anything I do gamedev wise is an effort to one day create my dream game of raising a catgirl.
-Sonata: The Video Game
This would be a parody game of Aria: The Animation, essentially. It's a fairly simple concept, but not something I've seen before. You're a gondola tour guide in a Venice-like city and you have a set time to take your customer to as many places that you think they'd be interested in visiting as possible so that they give you a good review. Hopefully this ends up being a relaxing game just like the anime it parodies.
-New Eris Mink Game
I don't have a title for this yet, but I've done a lot of planning. It would be either a hybrid 2d/3d Visual Novel, where the game engine handles the 3d backgrounds behind my art or a fully 3d game. It all takes place in one environment, a hidden cove that Eris sneaks into with you for a weekend. If all else fails, this would still make a fun VN.
-Date a Mink VR
This was a simple idea I came up with a while back where you go on a date with Eris and then have sex with her in the next scene. It's a very very simple porn game, so it might be a stepping stone to larger projects.
So, all of those are hypothetical projects. On to real projects:
The Animal Girl Showdown has closed! As promised, I'll be drawing a comic about the winner of the tournament, Holo from Spice and Wolf. I'm currently in the process of rewatching the anime, but I will write a script for the comic later this week and get to work on producing the pages.
The way that will work is that I will publish each page of the comic as I finish them here on Patreon, likely by updating the same post multiple times. While I'm posting each page, I'll also be posting previews to Twitter explaining that the comic is coming soon. Then, once the full comic is done, I'll post the entire thing to twitter and we'll all have a happy ending! I think that should workout. If so, I may make more comics from Patreon support in the future.
I'll have a new Poll up within a day or so. It's going to be all of the Ask Fade girls. Get ready!
After I finish the Holo comic, I plan to start work on Date an Otter, the sequel to Date a Mink that features Eris's cousin, Lillie! If you don't know who that is; come on, dude, Meet the Girls is literally up there. This game is fairly small compared to A Night With a Bat Girl, so there will likely only be two or three betas this time. To make up for that, I'm also going to be publishing more behind the scenes assets for you all to look at along with a dev log. Hopefully that should be interesting to some of you.
Anyhow, I think I've rambled enough.
Please leave a comment below with your thoughts on anything I've written about here! Getting feedback is always a huge help. ^^
PS: I'm also working on another VN project with Smex. More to come on that.
