Date an Otter Updates & Halloween Bundles

It's been a while since I've posted any updates, but Date an Otter development has started so I thought I'd share some of the planning phase I've done.

Date an Otter is a visual novel where you, the player, are an aspiring filmmaker casting Lillie in a variety of roles, where each shoot turns into a porn shoot as Lillie's camera and roleplay fetishes take control. You'll choose the different roles for Lillie to play as the story plays out around these naughty tapings.

Does this look familiar?

It might. Last time I started work on a visual novel, I created a graph very similar to this. This is a lowres (and outdated) version, so it should be illegible, but to make it a bit easier to read, here's a key:

• Green boxes are choices. 
• Red boxes are bad ends. 
• Blue boxes are sex scenes. 
• White boxes are just story beats.

The core of Date an Otter will be deciding which sex scenes you get, really. The story will play out mostly the same no matter what choices you make, but I want there to be a lot of variety in the types of sex scenes you could experience throughout the game. Each sex scene choice determines the type of film you'd like to test shoot with Lillie as your star with each subsequent sex scene choice narrowing down the genre (action -> thriller -> spy movie) further. Lillie will do her best to perform the role you give her, so remember to think ahead when you choose.

I'll also be introducing a new character with Date an Otter. Meet Ally!

Isn't she cute? I'm really happy with how her design came out.

Anyhow, Allison aka Ally will be your best friend throughout the game. She's a sweet costume designer who the protagonist has been friends with since college. Now, she runs her own shop where she'll provide you with all the costumes you need for each of your dirty shoots (try and not get them sticky, please).

She's also someone you'll be able to talk to about your relationship as it progresses, helping you try and make a romantic relationship out of your sexual one. She loves romantic stories, though, so her suggestions may have a hint of sugar. One could says she's a bit to idealistic about love, I mean - a polar opposite to Eris and her realist take on romance.

Finally, yes. You will be able to romance Ally, but she won't be the main focus. That will be Lillie.

I'll try and keep monthly gamedev updates coming out, by the way! I have some big ideas that I'll be working on even after Date an Otter is done.
