What do you mean by "Funimation sounds" though? The sounds are the same, the only difference is which version you're watching. They are all licensed by Funimation, but each version has a different composer.

Sorry I know she has a legitimate reason for being upset, her son almost died after being kidnapped by her husband's arch enemy, her husband just came back to life after being dead after being killed by his rival, maybe it's her voice but chi-chi is grating at times

Kat welcome to one of the most iconic sagas in dbz, this is one of my favorite sagas. Also it's i'm against the notion that goku is a bad dad thing. Hes a very laid back parent yes, but it's not gokus fault that he died. It's a llittle hard to take care of your child if your dead. Goku is always forced to save earth cause the rest usally cant save it. Yes he does love fightinh and training, but even if he didnt he would have to train and fight cause he is always depended on. So it kind of aggravtes me when people bash goku as a bad dad in fact to gohan every time he had down time when isnt dead or on some misson he spends his down time with gohan. Yes Chi Chi is a good mom but she is also to over protective. remember gohan is a half sayain goku was raised in the woods and as a kid goku never had a mom. closest motherly figure he had was launch so gokue was free to be himself and never had over bearing people. Some of that made Goku not as proper with stuff but When you consider the fact that Roshi taught goku manners shows allot lol. Roshi is basically Goku's father figure. So anyways Gohan though very strong for his age he doesn't still have quite as much independence as goku had, however knows more then goku did as a child.

just to let yall know because dbz is license by funimation the intro will not change, when it was on cartoon network it changed to show what saga you were in. the music dosent change either which is bummer because funimation sounds are so dull and the original dbz sounds made it more exciting. yes this is the namek saga

I'm all for you guys watching filler. You're watching the OG dub of Z, why not watch it all? Much of the filler for the trip to Namek portrays Bulma in a foul mood. It's never really explained as it's just Toei's innovation to the series. An idea I remember reading that seemed to fit the best was that she was annoyed because she was the only one who seemed to be taking the whole mission seriously. She helped repair the ship, learned Namekian, cut her hair and made a space suit. Krillin showed up all laid back like it was going to be an easy vacation and Gohan arrived with all that luggage like it was going to be some kind of summer camp cram-school. It's also said that her seriousness was overplayed as a gag because she so quickly abandons the things she complains about, the suit, dealing with atmosphere etc. It's also often said that the Namek arc is Bulma's worst arc as her mood and attitude sort of stay sour the entire time leaving the viewer to assume why she acts the way she does. Finally, a neat reference, Bulma's skimpy outfit is a nod to Sigourney Weaver's outfit as Ripley in the movie, Alien.
