Paused Billing
Added 2023-12-28 16:21:44 +0000 UTCI’ve paused the billing of Patreon for now. Hopefully, it’ll prevent needlessly charging the members for the next month. This will also prevent new Patrons from joining.
I’ve tried to write the next chapter (several times), but I always find myself staring at the words, thinking it’s boring. It’s probably due to knowing everything that will happen in the story, and knowing all of the characters like the back of my hand.
I’ll be taking a short rest. And I’ll resume charging on Patreon only once I have enough chapters uploaded (maybe it’ll motivate me).
Also, if the series comes to an end, I plan on writing a story about a man who opened up a ‘card shop’ two years after the start of an apocalypse that nearly killed all of mankind. There’s also this desire to write a novel about a reader who got sucked into the world of Legend of the Arch Magus.
Your thoughts?
P.S. I will make sure to have a proper ending in the story. If I finally run out of steam, the book will end in this volume.

I probably missed a few chapters, but he is still not as powerful as he was before his death. Also, he is an old man in a young guys body. He hasn't even fell for anyone yet.

2024-09-24 00:16:28 +0000 UTCHere are my thoughts on the story. What I like most about this story is mainly focused on Lark. At the same time he is a character that is quickly reaching his ceiling. He is already the most powerful character in the story. He has little to no character growth left, after obtaining political power. So it comes to a situation where events alway from Lark is more interesting. There in lays the pitfall. I’m not interested in all these other stories. I’m interest in lark. At the same time he has no more character growth. It’s a paradox. You have to throw us a curve ball. Flip the table and see where the pieces lay. Give us Larks character growth. I believe in you.

2024-05-30 09:44:42 +0000 UTCYeah I joined because legend of the arch magus. At least give us an ending, a proper ending please. Don’t just drop it. Take as long as you break as you need.

2024-05-29 07:11:16 +0000 UTCI hope you read this. I have never read a book series more than twice in my life and your's I have read book end to book end 6 times. I absolutely love your arch magus series and I hope you finish out the story and don't end it prematurely. Even if it takes you 10 years to finish, I really hope that you do. It is my favourite series BY FAR!

2024-03-20 14:57:35 +0000 UTCI joined the patreon because legend of the archmagus is/was the kind of story I enjoy reading and the writing style was pleasant. I don’t know if I would enjoy reading the isekai version simply because there are a lot of similar books I have already read (would have to decide after the first volume if its good or smth). I have no idea what the card shop thingie would be about so would also have to decide after reading some.

2024-01-09 06:29:18 +0000 UTCI hope you come back strong but if you don’t I want you to know that because of this series I’ve gotten my brother and my uncle back into reading so whatever happens man thanks for that and know I’ll look forward to any other books you put out

2024-01-07 00:23:20 +0000 UTCA small suggestion would be to have the same result given that the soldiers received when facing Blackie for the greedy Republic or rather their Deep State, kind of like ours, but in the book at least you can get some justice.

2024-01-02 01:19:43 +0000 UTCFeel good about yourself. You have put so much steam into this amazing story.

2024-01-01 16:15:45 +0000 UTCTake as long, as you need. Don't think about the story for a while. Until you start missing it, perhaps. Other authors write at a generally much slower pace. But please, do not end this great story.

2023-12-29 19:35:38 +0000 UTCI agree with everyone. You have/we have invested a lot into the series. I have re-read it about 4 times - and I have read a lot of fully fleshed series and LITRPG's. The universe + Evander have a lot of flesh to play out, but take your time. What you don't want to do, in my opinion, is force a story/ending and then later regret it. What you also don't want to do is a Patrick Rothfuss, and just not communicate with fans either, and not release anything for years and years and years. As long as you communicate, take your time, we will be here patiently waiting.
Asher Levin
2023-12-29 16:01:00 +0000 UTCI think the best way about it is to allow an organic ending manifest itself. Give yourself all the time you want in regards to the story and come back when the fire sparks up again. To me personally i think theres soo many avenues you can go with this story still but if youve lost the passion then dont force it. Sometimes we just need to find a spark of inspiration

2023-12-29 14:34:43 +0000 UTCI am also of the same mind as everyone else in this comments, take as long as you need to get your groove back on. I have gone back to your previous 5 audiobooks to listen to the story more than 8 times, that's how good your story is. I have also recommended it to other friends and they've told me it's an amazing story and they are also waiting for more. Relax take a long vacation and cameback to the story with a fresh mind, once again incredible world you have created.

2023-12-28 23:11:32 +0000 UTCEvery story has a logical beginning ,middle and end. Once this conflict is resolved it would be nice to revisit Blackstone town where it all started. Perhaps a flash forward of to current day a millennia after that remarks on this event and gives light to a new adventure.

2023-12-28 19:47:47 +0000 UTCBTW the story about the card shop.... I'll be honest and say maybe you didn't tell us enough about it yet because lol.... just....no, with love. But the the second idea is really something to think about. The reading about the LOTAM universe from a perspective other than Lark is something to think about. Maybe Nickolie's former apprentice, Jacob Frasier, and the 3rd tier mages Lark spared when leaving Daxton city (when he beheaded their horses) get together in Blackstone city and form a Mages Tower for the Kingdom of Lucas. Maybe they find that a large number of people have large mana pools due to using the magic items Lark created day in and day out. Constantly draining and refilling their manapools everyday with the use of these tools for years has created population with "potential". Not George and Austin level but they are certainly no longer ordinary.

2023-12-28 19:39:51 +0000 UTCPlease dont end the series until the story reached a good point you were building towards. Theres nothing worse than being invested in a long series that ends abruptly and unsatisfyingly.
Dalton C Vieira
2023-12-28 19:27:08 +0000 UTCTo end the series is so final especially when there is so much story to be fleshed out. There is so much of the world you've created that we haven't 'seen'. From the Three States Alliance, to the Principality of Rinvixia, even the White Stream Oasis. Not to mention the character development yet to be seen. Evander maturing and reaching something close to the pinnacle of strength in his new body. George and Austin's journey as powerful mages in their own right. Maybe they pick specialties. Does Austin return to Lion city? Does he run into his former bullies? Does George return to lion city and end up teaching healing magic to the masses and see the "healers" who denied him and left him to become a cripple? Do Lark Chryselle get together? Do Anandra and Lady Irine get together? Does Lark find all the remnants of the Magic Empire that are scattered throughout the continent? My point is you created an entire world that to end so abruptly would be not only rushed, but a disservice to your creativity. Please take as much time off as you need. But please, don't end it.
Justin G.

2023-12-28 18:51:59 +0000 UTCwhy is it logical for Lark to die?
Asher Levin
2023-12-28 17:32:26 +0000 UTCI think you’re exhausted. Honestly I think you should take a step back from the series completely and write either a sequel to any of the other novels you wrote - I really enjoyed the one about the assassin that was reincarnated into a fantasy world - or simply go and start a new series. Either way writer and series fatigue is a whole thing. You’ve been grinding out this series for a couple years now. Give Lark a break, write something else and return later. If you try to write the other series and have no creative issues then you know it’s time to take a break from Lark and then you don’t have to worry about ending the series too early

2023-12-28 17:24:26 +0000 UTCPersonally I'm still loving this series, so I hope you continue; but by all means take a break if you feel you need one, we'll all still be here when you're feeling up to posting again.

2023-12-28 17:10:20 +0000 UTCI’ve read all books/chapters and returned to some chapters to read them again cause they are so exciting . Even though it’s only words, the combination and meaning of them create a marvellous story and book. I feel that the book and you as author have lots of potential to create something ineffable . The way you mix suspense, action, terror, fun, all those emotions transport me into the story makes me feel I’m part of the story. Perhaps add something you have never considered or thought, something that will blow up our mind with such excitement that we will read it multiple times. Breaks are require to let our mind to rest and recover and you deserve that and more. My only advice or recommendation would it be enjoy it and I’m grateful for your books as they are pretty good . Thanks whatever you decide I support you 🙌🙌🙌🎉

2023-12-28 17:01:58 +0000 UTCNoooooo!!! Personally, I love Lark-verse, there’s just nothing like it! But please, take all the time you need to recharge. Honestly, you’re such a great storyteller, so I’m sure whatever story you’ll develop in the future will be equally great as your work now.
Reyna L'Italien
2023-12-28 17:01:12 +0000 UTCIt's time to finish the story if you're feeling the complications. I think the main character should die in a battle with the Demon Lord. Such an ending seems logical to me. Then after Lark's death, you could start stories about the reader who got sucked in LofAM. Of course, I'd still like to read more, but we should be getting to the ending by now. Can't wait to read the next stories. These are just my thoughts.

2023-12-28 17:00:49 +0000 UTCOk, Doc. Sounds good to me. A break is always needed to review all of the work that has been done and seeing just how you would like to end the final chapters. A happy ending is always great. Creating a new series based off this seems Awesome and I will enjoy reading it. Also having a person who reads this and becomes sucked into the series seems very exciting. Will there be some sort of forbidden spell that is used by accident or something and Lark is aware of this type of Forbidden Magic (humm....) , sounds pretty good man. That's it I'm sold on the ideas 😁👍👍.

2023-12-28 16:38:07 +0000 UTCIt might be time to end the series but I'm sure most of us feel the story is still very interesting. It was good to finally meet Lady Alice after hearing references to her through many books. You were beginning to develop the rest of the continent besides the countries of Lucas, the Great Empire and the beastman territory. Don't forget, you can use Patreon for testing ideas as nothing is written in stone here. If something is boring or doesn't work due to a plot hole, it could show up here and be altered before release on Amazon.

2023-12-28 16:33:53 +0000 UTCIt’s so important to not get burned out. Having highs and lows for motivation is natural and I agree that you shouldn’t force it. Enjoy your break and thank you for communicating with us. I absolutely LOVE this series and want it to continue but not at the cost of your health or creative freedom. Both of those other ideas sound great to me! Maybe jotting down some notes and beginning to flesh those out may help you. Also, even just reading other books for your enjoyment. Know that you have our support and we’re cheering you on!

2023-12-28 16:32:07 +0000 UTCI hate deck-building / magical card stories if that's what you're going for but I'm probably in the minority. Someone isekai'd into the Legend story might be good but since you're burnt out on the original it might not be for the best.

2023-12-28 16:30:45 +0000 UTCI have always wanted more stories from the other characters in this world. Like all the people in Blackstone town we met in the first few books. I want to know more about how the town progresses and builds. That would be so fun to have side stories with the police guard and the builders and farmers and miners. Great idea!

2023-12-28 16:29:09 +0000 UTCI vote for a Happy ending! But I love the idea of someone being sucked into the storyline of the lengend of the arch magus. That sound great. Only because this is one of my favorite stories. I have a few but this is one of my top ones and one of the first ones I started reading. Get some rest and know that it is NOT boring. I love the direction it's going and that he is rediscovering all that he lost.

2023-12-28 16:29:08 +0000 UTCI wouldn’t mind reading about the reader insert for this world. I’d need to know more about the ‘card shop’ story. As long as you’re happy with the ending!
