Just saying, he seems to know exactly who he wants to manipulate closest to his side. The nature of Jugo's condition is actually kind of a carry-over from OG Naruto as well as the Orochi and Kimimaro stuff. When Orochi's refined version of the curse mark was first introduced, the Sound 4 still described it as eating away at your personality/character/will, sacrificing that and free will from Orochimaru in exchange for power. Also "Hebi" means "Snake"(generally), so Sasuke's super original and creative with his band names.
