Ya'll probably already know this, but hate to break it to ya...Freeza never made Vegeta who he was, he was always that. That speech he gave was totally false, unfortunately.

*1* Don't think too hard about the "Fieza's parents" line. I'm afraid that was just a dub change to emphasize how Goku manage to actually hurt him. In the Japanese version, Frieza states that this is the first time anyone has gotten him this excited. He does not mention parents at all. Also, that "Native Language" thing was a dub-only line too. I don't know why. *2* Vegeta's death always hits me. Can't wait for you guys to see this scene in Kai. It's one of my favorites in that dub. Seeing Vegeta cry like that is really sad when you think about him as a Saiyan. Even though they were ruthless conquers, their pride was always more important. They were on top of the world, then Frieza came and turned them into slaves. Even after the fact, the Saiyans were very loyal to Frieza and followed his every command, and then he just threw them away like trash. Then after over 20 years of servitude, Vegeta finally has a chance to avenge the pride of his race. But no matter how hard he tried he just couldn't do it. So, on top of ALL THAT, the Prideful Saiyan Prince has to beg a lower class warrior to do the job. It was just too much for him, so he wept. Can't say I blame him.

I’m actually so hyped and anxious to watch their reactions to the next couple of episodes 😆

Frieza and Krillin are the same height

Nobody here give any context. lol

i can’t wait for the next couple of episodes , my favorite line from freza “ pop goes the weasel” lol

It also has to deal with japanese episodes being about 18 - 19 minutes whereas in america they are about 21 minutes long so they add filler to make up for that time

They are gonna cry...

Won't spoil but younger Toguro is also a really compelling villian too, oh and something about dragon ball that I'm not sure it's been said but toriyama doesn't like vegeta, but he said he likes piccolo and goku about the same

Jack Marshal

You have 2.. a movie - Bardock: The Father of Goku. (Which, plays even before OG DB) And Bardock: The Legendary Super Saiyan (which is Non-Canon)

It's coming...

We're not given an exact length of time for the duration of the battle with Frieza aside from one point in the battle that is mentioned later during the fight. Frieza is one of my favorite villains across all of Dragon Ball. Some villains are evil by necessity or because they're just following orders out of survival, some are evil because they were created that way, one villain in particular is just evil by nature. When it comes to Frieza he's evil because he chooses to be and he loves it and takes joy in the pain he causes others and the interactions he has with his underlings and victims/opponents is icing on the cake. He may not be a complex layered character (he's the typical abusive power hungry overlord) as much of what can added to his character can be assumed through context but, sometimes that kind of simplicity works when it is pulled off as well as his character. I really don't think the transition from Z to Super will be effected too much on whether or not you watch Kai. Certain characterizations will seem a bit different, like Goku, but honestly it's not that jarring of a change. For instance Goku's motives behind his actions are not exactly for Justice as the original Dub would like us to see where as in Kai, he's still a really good guy but, he is more driven by his pursuit of surpassing his limits and fighting more challenging opponants, of course stopping the bad guy is always a plus too. As for voice acting, the majority of the main cast's actors from Z to Kai do not change aside from Bulma who is voiced by Monica Rial (Mirajane of Fairy Tail) and Gohan is voiced by Colleen Clinkenbeard (Luffy of One Piece) also a handful of the main villains' are voiced by different people. Frieza for instance is voiced by the late Chris Ayres who's performance is arguably one of the best renditions of the character. As a small note, Chris Sabat actually voices LESS characters in Kai as well, giving up some of his smaller roles, such as Zarbon and Jeice to other people. Finally, amongst the meme community, Shaggy is only matched in power by the likes of Shrek, Big Chungus, and Rolf Son of a Shepherd.

I'm so glad that you guys love Frieza as much as I do xD Like I said in one of my previous comments he's definitely my favorite anime villain! :)

I do agree. Kai does have almost all of the original voice actors, an overall vastly improved dialog/voice acting and the presentation of the series is also greatly improved in Kai compared to the original dragon ball z dub (Original Z US run changed a few personalities of certain characters (mainly Goku) and some minor plot differences, while Kai chose to be closer to the manga/original Japanese run).

If you upgrade to a senior tier you can recommend 2+ reaction to any anime including DBZ. A lot of people are recommending DBZ we are filming more this week. But yes you can get 2+ more if you recommend DBZ! Thanks 😁

im so confused so if i upgrade to senior tier would i get esipodes 92-93 ?

Mark

Dragon Ball Kai and Dragon Ball Z mostly share the same voice actors with some exceptions like Bulma and the Kid Goku/ Gohan voice. Kai does have a new Frieza voice actor too. I would recommend watching Kai before Super as the voice acting is improved when they did Kai. If you plan on watching all of Dragon Ball including GT, abridged etc. Watch GT or Abridged after Z. Then Kai then Super. That is at least the way I would do it. But basically Kai flows better into Super than Z does. Especially with how the characters sound overall.

Geo23

Also, I will say the Dragon Ball filler is generally really good, but I think it might be better to first go through the main story Akira Toriyama wrote for Dragon Ball. When DBZ was airing, Toriyama was still writing and drawing the manga at the same time so the filler was just added to give Toriyama time to stay ahead and finish the story. None of it is in the manga, so I would say definitely watch the filler since you guys seem to really want to, but maybe after you finish the main story.

Vegeta is not related to Goku, Vegeta is royalty and Goku comes from a lower class of Saiyans. That is why Vegeta was so angry in their fight with Goku. Vegeta is royalty and had everything at his hands and Goku is scum basically. That said there are mysteries about Vegeta's family tree to this day, but as of now, there is no blood connection between the two. There is a special episode about Goku's dad that you can watch after the Frieza saga, I don't think it is canon but it does go a bit into the original story of Goku's dad.

DiegoH

It's a good week when there's extra dbz episodes.
