⭐Dragon Ball Z Episodes 101 & 103: Watch Along & Analysis

I think the consensus is DON'T SKIP FILLER in Dragonball Z. That is all.

If the filler is happing in between a big fight I would say watch it, if it is between arcs I would say you can skip it.

It's also worth noting that Episodes 108 to 117 are unquestionably filler. So they'll basically be skipping 10 Episodes once this is done.

102 mostly goes through the same beats as 103 so that's safe to skip. As for 100, that should have been categorized as Mixed Canon/Filler. Everything involving the wish was canon, but all of the Gohan content was filler, as the following episode acts like it never happened (if you've noticed, the recap doesn't even mention it). You'll see this reversed in episode 106. where the episode is mostly canon but the last 5 minutes are filler and are forgotten about in the very next episode. I think this issue boils down to multiple writers that don't really communicate and end up making inconsistences for the show. Call it a "Too Many Cooks In The Kitchen" situation. This tends to happen in anime that are in a consistent weekly format. On another note. You have 4 more episode until the Namek Saga is done. Bet that makes you pretty excited.

Most of episode 100 is filler, tho it does have moments sprinkled in that are important. As far as I remember, episode 102 can be skipped and nothing will be missed. There are fillers worth watching but some that are a drag to sit through. The next filler arc for example is 100% skippable. Also in regard, the ocean dub never got this far, only dubbing the first 67 episodes. Only to return for the very last saga I believe. Ironically when Funimation first started dubbing DBZ they were mimicking the Ocean Dub but when the Ocean dub came back they to mimick the Funimation dub. But yeah overall some filler has small moments of cannon, some have no cannon but fans say are great episodes. Others are skippable and have no impact at all to the show

100 marked as filler since it did not happen in the manga. Its really not bad and can be watched, but in the way how it happens does not make much sense. Especially considering some of the things we have seen Frieza done feat wise the past few episodes. Not sure about 102 though, might be because it filled out a few missing gaps in the manga
