I skipped ahead to a couple of key episodes, and yeah, without the music the vibe is way off. Waaaaaaay off. Bummer. I don't think it's the nostalgia that I'm craving, but the fact that no sound at all seems...wrong. Like eating popcorn seeds raw.

The Saiyan Saga is inspired by Superman 2 (Vegeta is Zod & Goku's Superman) The Namek/Frieza Saga is inspired by Star Wars (the space adventure and how they face emperor of the galaxy/universe in Frieza) The other sagas to come which I won't spoil are also loosely inspired by classic film series

The dub at this point is now on match with the original dub which is why some voices are different even though the voice actors are the same. You'll find out the meaning if the intro soon enough. There is a special to watch a little bit later after a few episodes. It's the only dbz thing outside of the show that is cannon as none of the movies are cannon to the show. Excited to see you progress through the show and eventually watch kai to see the differences in the dub
