I do not understand sympathy for Madara, all he wanted (judging from his story, not taking into account the future narrative) is power for himself and his clan, dismissing the fact that everyone wanted peace, that all clans chose 1 hokage as their leader, he personally admitted that he wanted revenge Konoha and attacked her. The other Uchiha didn't like the role of the police, they wanted more. The only motivator for the Uchiha is hatred and lust for power - not the desire to be a useful part of society.

Just take it all with a pinch of salt. I'll just say not to take any sides and see it from a neutral standpoint till the end of the anime.

Tobi/Madara has a fantastic voice for tragic storytelling, but he did openly admit that Itachi was trying to protect Sasuke by preventing Madara from speaking to and manipulating him so you know, he might stretch a truth or something similar.

Hmm, interesting take on your views from what you just heard. Personally, I wouldn't judge either side without getting all the facts, especially since we're hearing it from Madara. Though, one thing to point out is the anbu is part of two groups, the one under Danzo is part of the foundation which Sai was a part of, The third Hokage controls the main anbu black ops. Danzo's group is a faction split from the main group. The two elders were part of the Third Hokage's squad who were taught by the Second Hokage. It is stated by Tsunade when Danzo was introduced that the Third Hokage followed more of the First Hokages view while Danzo followed the seconds more closely. It is interesting to note that the Third didn't follow his Sensei's views on certain topics, but followed the First Hokage Tsunade's grandfather which is why Danzo doesn't like Tsunade.
