⭐Sword Art Online: Fairy Dance (Part 9 & 10): Read Along & Analysis

Comments

This volume is very weirdly separated due to the different perspectives it wants to cover. His other series, The Isolator, does this a lot too but in that case it goes between the perspective of the MC and the Villain (I really hope you get to read that soon). But to get to your question, because of that, I’m guessing audible decided to use each one of the segments the book uses to distinguish a new perspective as chapter marks. It’s a weird way of doing it, but the chapters in this book are very long so I don’t blame them. I don’t think the other arcs have chapters this long. Instead, they actually separate the perspectives into chapters. Anyway, that scene you mentioned with him floating happens in the first half on volume 4, but I think that scene is only enhanced by a later scene near the end of the arc where his thoughts go deeper into what he started in that scene. That first scene is pretty short compared to the other one (Like a few sentences type of short). And yeah, thankfully I don’t think there are people thinking Yui is part of his harem. Basically everyone just sees her as his daughter. However, a lot of people do hate her existence. That all comes from hater videos, of course, hating on her character. Reki does change her role quite a bit in Unital Ring so I can’t wait to see what people think of that. A big part of Kirito’s character, and something that is also shown here, is how much Kirito tries to hide his own emotions. Although in the LN this works perfectly, especially when you hear what he’s really thinking during certain scenes, I think this is why a lot of people don’t like Kirito as a character in the anime. Although you can still see it in the anime during the big scenes, a lot of the smaller stuff that make his character that much better are omitted. But one thing that I think is still very evident is how willing he is to hurt himself for the sake of others. After leaving Klein at the beginning of SAO and the death of the Moonlit Black cats, plus two other things that I rather you see instead of me spoiling it, (It was cut content from the anime) he became fixated in helping people no matter the cost. The fact he started using “I will protect you” instead of the “You won’t die” he used to say to Sachi really add on to that. I’m excited to each out that SAO video you’re working on. I will make sure to give as much feedback as I can.
