His father tried to kill him - we all know that Laxus was raised by his grandfather, Makarov right, and what drove Laxus to betray the guild was Makarov expelling his father from Fairy Tail. What Laxus didn’t know was that his father Ivan tried to kill him. Let me explain; Laxus was given the lightning lacrima as a way of "healing" him since he was a sickly child, but Ivan never really cared about his son getting better. He cared more about developing the lacrima so he could rip it out of him and sell it later on. Name Origin: "Laxus gets his name from Lux, which is the standard measurement of units for illuminance and luminous emission.
