Pretty much that entire filler arc was them wandering aimlessly across the sea on that boat, yeah. There are actually one or two pretty funny episodes in there, but naturally in real-time I hated the months it took to get through them. I think part of the reason the Pain Arc is so beloved is that it's the start of this brand of maturity for the show, the catalyst for Naruto as a character to really start talking and thinking about deep questions like what is real peace, or what can he actually do for Sasuke, or how he actually feels about his village. Really good stuff, and one of my favorite outros too.

2022-06-21 00:12:37 +0000 UTCThe reason this intro is so happy and goofy is because there was a big natural disaster in Japan at the time and they made the intro like that to try to help cheer people up. Definitely makes you enjoy it even more in my opinion!
