The bullet train case was changed from the manga. In the manga those two were actually the same men in black from the first ep and it's this ep that Conan learned of their codenames. It's gonna be a plot hole later on in the anime on how Conan knows their codenames completely out of nowhere. There'll be another ep like this one that they changed the characters and kinda ruined a story line, however because that episode was very important to the main plot so they remade it to fit its continuity.
2022-07-29 09:23:49 +0000 UTCDetective Conan's manga was published in 1994, and the anime aired in 1996. Yes, it is still ongoing and releasing a movie every year. The show is a Shonen reasons being: 1)There are a lot of deaths in the show obviously, and some of the deaths are brutal. A lot of blood on the screen. The early part of Conan can be terrifying causing nightmares when I was a kid. 2)Parents are afraid of children imitating Junior Detective League. 3)Not only are people killed in the show, Conan often gets his life-threatening too as a kid (even though he has a 17-year-old mind). There are a lot of filler episodes of cases of the week in the latter part of the show. Conan didn't make much progress on finding those black clothes guys for a long time, but every time the cases involved those guys, it gets very serious. So Detective Conan is indeed a Shonen. By the way, Kaito won't show up until ep76.
