As far as political power, Danzo's time in the 3rd's reign probably started as something like a 4- or 5-Star General since they were teammates/rivals and then moved on to Secretary of Defense and CIA Director-level stuff. These scenes would have been better in the Pain arc for sure...but the pacing and Obito "secret" identity" and whatnot, and the timeline is...sometimes maybe broken.

2022-12-09 00:07:00 +0000 UTCThese two episodes are technically filler and are really meant as kind of a bridge between obito's backstory and the upcoming kakashi backstory arc, which is why they feel out of place to you. They aren't meant to really add anything, and they kind of are just like "deleted scenes" like you said, I think that was the perfect way to put it 😂
