It has definitely caused some problems with him being too trusting, but it is also one of the things his friends love about him. The fact that almost all of his friends are people that used to be enemies, I think is why he is so trusting of his enemies. Good things have come out of it before, so he continues to try to think that way, even if it may be a little naive.
