April Devlog

Have you played the most recent Beta? I really need feedback, so be sure to give it a shot!

Technically, I did put out Beta 0.4 this month so I probably don't need to put out a devlog this month, but I've been busy since the release and wanted to share some of my new work! 

Meet the Girls Updates:

Earlier this month, I put out a large update for my character database project, Meet the Girls. I have a devlog on itch that explains most of the changes, but in short:

I'm considering turning Meet the Girls into a website at some point along with a more in-depth gallery of all my art, but I'm not sure if or when something like this would happen. I'm definitely not experienced with web development, but I have some ideas for how it could work. For now, enjoy looking at my cute girls! 

The Blind Date Game Updates:

Behold! The new sex system!

Okay, admittedly that looks a bit terrible, but it's actually pretty powerful. The character is animated in a very limited capacity while the placement of the arms and legs is driven through code and the actual insertion is controlled via code. The environment is randomly selected from generalized locations (which I still need to make) that are easy to swap out. 

In short: new positions should be easy to add through a very generalized, code driven animation system. Here's an example of what the system looks like when in action:

Since sex positions should be easy to add already, how do you interact with everything? 

Currently, the speed of the thrust/ride is driven by single button input. Press and release at a steady tempo and the average timing will be calculated to generate a thrust speed. If it's too slow, she'll even come to a stop. Don't worry about hurting your finger, though. You can lock the speed once you have it where you want it. 

As you can see from the gif above, the sex system is also plugged into the character personality system! Every girl will have set preferences for you to target and will communicate them to you periodically. You'll need to meet her preferences well enough in order to get a happy afterglow, which will effectively serve as the game's results screen. 

Communication is a key part of The Blind Date Game's sex system, but I didn't want to force you to use two hands so I've created a radial menu system to allow you to interact with the girl and the game's systems with ease. This gif is a few days old and is already outdated now that the dialog system has been implemented, so development is moving quickly on this!
