Hello there. Welcome to another text post! Now that Lust Potions is done, it's time to talk about Date a Mink 3D!

What is Date a Mink 3D?
Date a Mink 3D has been a lot of things in previous devlogs, so I think this is a good time to clarify what my current plans for the project are going into it. There's still space for ideas to change, but I think I've solidified the concept well enough to let you all in on my plans:
Date a Mink 3D is a 3D visual novel focused on Eris, the mink. You (the player) will get to go on a date with Eris and, depending on how things go, spend an erotic night with her. The game will be available for desktop platforms (PC, Mac, Linux) and will have optional virtual reality support.
Don't expect anything particularly long. I'm deliberately keeping the scope of this game small as it is mainly going to be my testing grounds for several planned features for Catgirl Care.
Current Progress
Currently, I have most of the intended functionality of the game (dialogue scripting, scripted animation support, saving, VR ...) already set up. I'm currently working on modeling Eris's character model which I'll need before I can prepare the final few features (jiggle physics, animation, locomotion, etc.) .

The gif above shows the current demo. Everything is in a very early stage of development, but all of the important features are there. If I overhaul the visuals and add a proper story, the current feature set would get the job done. The only thing this doesn't really show is VR, which is functional but easier to experience than showcase.
Regarding visuals:

This head is part of the current work in progress for Eris's character model. It's not much quite yet, but I want to make sure she looks her best for those of you who decide to play the game in VR. Keep in mind that the final model will be a bit different from this (likely lower poly count) .

Godot 4
Date a Mink 3D is my first project in Godot 4. I've been using Godot since around 3.0 so the jump hasn't been too much trouble. In fact, most of the upgrades to the engine have been very nice.
I'm hoping that the handful of engine bugs I am experiencing (mostly regarding viewport textures) can be squashed before I get the game done, but there may be an extended beta period for this project if I finish the project before the engine is patched.

I really enjoyed working on Lust Potions, but I am excited to get back to projects I'm a bit more passionate about. I may return to the project around Halloween for a small update depending on what my workload looks like, but no promises.
