June Devlog (Website, Mink 3D)

Hello! Welcome to another devlog. This month's devlog is mostly just a continuation of last month's. Let's just dive into it!

Date a Mink 3D

I spent a large part of the month working on commissions and the website, so I don't have much to show for Date a Mink 3D, but there's still a few exciting things I can showcase here. 

My main focus with Date a Mink has been on preparing the game for assets and animations and improving Eris's character model. I've implemented a music queuing system that syncs to the tempo and Eris's model is now fully rigged for animation. That said, I'm a bit limited on what I can animate right now as Godot 4.0 broke the existing shape key support. A fix is coming in 4.1, so she'll start having expressions and moving a lot more soon. 

Above, you can see Eris's targeting system, which lets her look at things. It's a bit different from the system I used in The Blind Date Game as it can change targets as needed and the eyes now track the target as well. I'm pretty happy with how she's turning out, so I can't wait to set you all up with her on a date soon! 

I should also mention that I've been working on the rough draft for the story and Eris is cute.

Website

I'm pretty happy to say that the website is pretty much ready to go. I still have a few things I plan to tweak or update, but all the core functionality is there and any additional changes can be done fairly safely through updates. 

The home page of the site is the tumblr-esque blog, which has an RSS feed as well as an assortment of links for my various other platforms. Images posted on the blog redirect to their gallery pages (which link back to the posts) where you can see that every image has a set of tags that you can search. You can search multiple tags at the same time as well as suggest missing tags if you think I've forgotten anything (I'll periodically check suggests manually). I also have Meet the Girls built in to the site, so all of my characters bios and galleries should be easy to reach for!

Currently, the only issue I'm facing is finding an affordable and low risk host for my content. It's easy to choose a popular host and hope they don't have a problem with adult content, but I've seen too many services prioritize profits over nsfw content lately and I'd prefer to find a web host I can trust. I've reached out to a couple hosts with questions, so hopefully I hear something back soon and I can get the website up within the following month or so!
