Arc thirteen rushes onward, to perhaps unexpected places! Yet again, I have been bamboozled and blindsided by the zombie girls - things did not unfold in this chapter how I had them outlined. The zombies have gone wildly off-script, and I am powerless to stop them! Not that I would try; I'd probably get minced. And besides, it's much more fun when I let them go wild!
Anyway, this means that arc 13 might actually be coming to an end soon - not the next chapter, I don't think, but maybe one or two after that. We might go to 13 chapters, which would be a perfect number, no? 13.13! I'm not sure that will happen, but it would be a lovely coincidence.
This does, however, mean that arc 13 will almost certainly be carrying on after the upcoming break, rather than concluding prior to it. A little shame, but I'll keep doing my best!
I do hope you enjoy this one, dear readers, as much as I enjoyed writing it! Back we go, down into the tomb; don't follow any strange whispers, they're only in your head.

Thank you! Thank you so much! Gosh, yes, it's really exciting and satisfying to see this kind of character development coming across so clearly. Ooni really surprised me here, too; I wasn't certain when I started drafting this chapter if she would be up to the task of comprehension via explanation, but she went even further than I expected. The end of the chapter was all her plan as well - I didn't outline any of that part, she did it all herself! I'm really glad you enjoyed this chapter, and thank you for the kind compliment!

2025-02-02 21:54:57 +0000 UTCFunny thing, that. In trying to explain Telokopolis to Kuro, Ooni learned more about it than Kuro may ever know. You can see it when Ooni picks the option of informing the cadre about the ferrofluid over the immediate best survival option of helping Iily. Because the cadre would be better off as a whole with the information and even if Kuro killed her before fixing Iily, she’d be fine because she’s a part of Telokopolis and Telokopolis is forever. Being able to show such character progression in the course of a few chapters so fluidly and naturally is why you’re one of my favorite authors HY. Hats off to you!
