When Rod Reiss licks the serum and transforms and you ask "Why did they have to inject it if he can just lick it?" without giving a definite answer the situation itself is telling. If they can just lick it to transform but go to the trouble of injecting it, there must be a reason why just licking it is bad and injecting it is the optimal/preferred method. Consider though that Rod's transformation alone started to destroy the entire place around him.

Nah it's probably because he ingested it rather than injected it. We've seen in season 3 that you can essentially control to some degree what size titan someome turns into based on how much serum or perhaps how much is injected

In an interview he did last month, he said “There are things I'm not completely happy with in the manga, and so I talk to the animation team about it. i think the fact that Rod Reiss has royal blood kinda influenced the size of his titan. it's one thing it was weird because not injecting the serum properly, but if you think about it (SPOILER ALERT but if if they finished s3 this shouldn't be a problem), Dina's titan was really tall too. Idk, it's just a speculation but that's the way i see it

Well said, Season 3 is a very lean and cathartic conclusion that effectively ties up the entirety of the series up to that point... but then also plants the biggest bombshell of an opening to a new storyline in order to continue evolving the series - literally opening up an entire world. It's both and end and a beginning. ...Then wait till you see what they do with Season 4.

I’ve never understood why some people think Eren having an emotional breakdown wasn’t the “real” Eren or was “unlike” Eren. At that moment, he’s suicidal and is arguably at his lowest point in the story so far. We’ve known him to be an extremely emotional person who’s been severely traumatized and I think some people forget that he’s just a 15 yo teen. Given everything he’s been through, I’d be more worried if he didn’t have a mental breakdown tbh but to each their own. Can’t wait for y’all to watch season 4 and catch up with everyone! It’s gonna be A LOT to take in so take breaks to really absorb and understand what you’re reading and seeing.

Mikasa's comment about Historia being able to punch Levi might seem a little off here. The way Levi told Historia she needed to be queen was a lot rougher in the manga (he basically yoked her up), so then Mikasa says she can punch him when she's Queen and he can't do anything about it.

Now that you guys have finished season 3, I gotta say - you were on the scent of the big reveal from VERY early on. I was shocked when one of you mentioned suspecting there's civilization outside the walls, but it happened way back in like season 1 when you first said it, which is insane. My first time watching AOT, never in a million years could I have seen the big reveal coming. It completely blew me away.

blu ray is the “complete edition”.really all they do is go back and clean up animations or shots here and there. not sure if you saw my comment earlier about some parts of season 4 being rushed, but the blu ray definitely alleviates a lot of that. its not like the animation is ever that bad either way though its just up to yall bc itd probably take a few days to get the blu ray shipped

I think the moment when Levi asks Eren to make a choice is extremely significant for Eren's development. When he tried to trust his comrades, the Levi squad, back in s1, they all died. This time, he literally says, give me a chance to believe in myself. Then he acts on his own and bites the armour bottle. This choice allowed his friends to live. I believe these two events' results are critical to understanding Eren's development throughout the entire story.

now you get what people mean when they say that the best parts dont even start until season 3 part 2. in many ways it feels like you’ve finally finished the “prologue” and have unlocked the real story. in many ways the return to shiganshina arc was like the conclusion to “old” AOT. We finally go back to where it started, Eren finally takes down his number 1 opp in the colossal titan, we finally see the basement. watching as it aired was such insane payoff after 6 years since season 1. i think the story becomes a lot more morally and thematically mature/complex from this point. man… i think you guys will love season 4

kinda agree but still worry Carter might feel the same way about season 4 like season 3 part 1 cause I see in the comments he said it felt kinda weirdly placed and he was super disappointed by that. Plus, the start of season 4 is even more 'out of nowhere' and have so much more subtle things going on. So I reckon slowing things down and have us give more explanations might help him enjoy the show even better ^^
