2023-02-15 09:19:43 +0000 UTCAOT has plenty of comedy moments in the middle of dark scenes, but it's just how it handles them, and that it doesn't change the animation style. Erin is literally suicidal asking Historia to eat him while she's trying to remove his restraints and she's starts joking that she's an enemy of humanity and the worst girl ever. Then after the cave is collapsed Sasha jokes that she thought they were doomed when Erin was prancing and crying. In this episode you had Levi saying the guy's face looked like it was leaking shit when he was making an important report, and then later you had Historia being crowned as the queen in a triumphant moment only for her to then have a joke scene after of going to his Levi. It all comes down to if the comedy hits for you. That being said I think FMA is one of the best shows for them to watch because of the overall quality and depth of the story and the characters.

I guess I just got ticked off when Cannon called him a bum even after he had seen his actions during the Coup to choose to disobey orders and instead defend the citizens of wall rose. For thos actions alone I would call him a hero since he wasnt aware of the bigger plan and still chose good anyway

2023-02-14 02:14:21 +0000 UTCI really do think they will dislike FMAB, nothing personal but I personally hate FMAB so much because they had this habbit of introducing some slapstick comedy thing right after every freaking dark and intense moment to lighten up the show, I really don't understand why would they do this because for me it really ruin the dark story they trying to potray, somewhere in the middle I dropped the show because I'm fed up with the comedy. And if I'm not mistaken I remember either Carter or Cannon said in their early reaction video that they love how AOT keeping things dark and serious all the time, so I think FMAB is not for them tho. I think shows like Monster, Death Note, Vinland Saga, or even Violet Evergarden would be much more suitable for them

The song talks about a bird who’s trying to fly to heaven, but it keeps falling bc it’s wings are soaked with blood (which is sad and symbolic af)

I felt pretty similarly to him in the beginning (just kinda thought Levi was an overly violent asshole), but he slowly grew on me, and this episode really cemented that. Knowing that violence and death were really the only things he was exposed to growing up makes it kinda incredible to me that he ends up as the person he is. Obv Cannon doesn’t have to agree, but I’d definitely like to hear his thoughts

He's definitely good and the disagreement he had in earlier seasons is understandable, but I wouldn't call him a hero lol.

I’ll keep it 💯with y’all, you chose one of the best anime of all time as your introduction. This shit is so awesome, it set the standard for 3d animation for years to come. All those epic ODM shots you loved, that’s what every animation studio hopes their shots look like. Keeping the standard high for the emotional storytelling and fantastic shot composition, stick with Fullmetal or Mob Psycho. Both are up there with AOT as the best of the best.

In the manga, there were more twists and turns, and had all of those plotlines been followed, we would have had a 20 episode season. One of the plotlines of this arc in the manga is the Levi punch, which has far more significance in the manga than the anime. In the manga, when the scouts learn that Historia is the true successor to the throne, both Eren and Historia are with them, not yet kidnapped (in the anime, they are already taken in episode 2). As a result, Historia is overwhelmed and hesitates, as a result of which Levi lifts her off the ground by her collar and punches her, almost threatening her to take the crown as the scouts are in dire straits, having been disbanded by the government. As a result, all the scouts - Jean, Sasha, Conny, Armin, Mikasa, Eren are pretty angry at Levi and when Historia finally accepts her position, they urge her to punch him back in the future when she becomes the Queen as payment for that time and then dare him to punch her back (which he can't as she will be the Queen). Given how this season is written, unfortunately they couldn't include Levi's punch, hence Historia punching Levi seems more like some stupid dare that your friends come up with, rather than a genuine payback (at least to me). But of course, given the manga scenario, it makes sense why Levi would accept being punched by the Queen, because he knew he had started that, here he just accepts it. When this show was airing, since Levi never got an opportunity to punch Historia, the manga fans were not sure whether we would get Historia's punch, and that had significance as it is the first time we see Levi smile! We were happy that they ended up including it and I guess it all worked out in the end!!
