As for armin, he was expecting bertholdt not to transform out of fear of killing reiner, clearly underestimating bertholdt probably based on how easily he manipulated him in the last arc of season 2. (Which would have been the last time they interacted before this)

As for the Armin thing, I really am struggling to see how that situation is in anyway “plot induced stupidity”. You say Armin should have just “attacked him”…but what does that look like? Everyone charge at him while he’s still human? Well, then he could potentially transform and everyone gets blown to bits lol. There is zero guarantee they capture Bertholt if they do that and it’s arguably WAY more risky. If you could elaborate a little more though on what the “smart” actions Armin should have taken so I understand better that’d be great 👍.

As well as Annie and Bert when they killed Marco, you can see Annie hesitates and she and Bert cry as it happens. Killing a human and a comrade is not an easy task for 15 year olds nor should it be.

Armin was also saying "we don't have the ability to capture a human that can transform alive, we lack information" suggesting that the plan always was to kill him rather than cut him out, and seemingly no one wanted to be the one to actual deal the final blow. Some of them were already breaking down from guilt without him even being confirmed dead. Jean tried to snap Connie and Sasha out of it, but you could tell he was still hesitating himself. It's like what he was saying to them he was really trying to convince himself as well.

AoT is not immune to criticism for sure. Though you can always find examples in other shows and movies. To name a few events or decisions to serve the story as a whole: * Martha! Batman spares Superman because their mothers share the same name. * Why didn't Obi-Wan just finish Darth Vader in the Obi Wan Disney+ show knowing he would be responsible for the deaths of millions of lives? * Or why didn't Doctor Strange just use a portal to slice off Thanos's hand off on planet Titan (HISHE)? * Why did Captain America refuse to have Vision killed to destroy the soul stone when the fate of the universe was at stake?

All of them seemed to like his character, even after his reveal as the Armored Titan in season 2. They asked about him and Bertholdt several times during part 1 of season 3 and now they want him dead as soon as possible? He got to climb the wall and wrestle Eren for a bit before he gets killed off? Don't think that would sit well with them or the audience in general.

2023-02-19 01:10:13 +0000 UTCI think it was purely plot induced stupidity to keep the story going😂 like if you think about it, if they used the good ol Zombieland rule #2 double tap on Reiner when he was incapacitated they coulda made sure he was actually dead. Then for Armin, he’s really smart so seeing the situation they were in I feel like he could’ve thought to himself “Bertholt is now completely against us, the Annie trick isn’t working anymore” and attack Bertholt, or even before that. Armin definitely let his feelings get the best of him and his decision making abilities. They definitely could’ve gotten both the armored and colossal titan if it wasn’t for the plot induced stupidity. But to be fair I also think this episode shows what Carter said, that they are human beings with flaws. Like who would want to kill a friend, besides Mikasa and Levi lol, after spending 2+ (or however long their training arc was) with them and shedding blood, sweat, and tears with them? Thanks for reading my Ted Talk lol, here’s a potato for u😂🥔

He transferred his consciousness into the Titan's body (as stated by Bertolt when he went to him) before the thunder spears blew up. That would mean they would have to slice up his titan's whole body up (if they even had that knowledge) to fully defeat him.

2023-02-18 23:07:00 +0000 UTCI totally agree that that scene (where none of them kill Reiner and it backfires) is really frustrating to watch, but it does make sense when you think about the people involved: 1) Most of the Scouts left are not the best soldiers the Scouts have to offer. They questioned Armin when he had command, were generally pretty hesitant, and the other squads were being killed by tiny titans. So these guys probably assumed the Armored Titan was dead, celebrated, and were slow to respond to Hange's command to fire another round. 2) With the time skips it's hard to get a full grasp of the timeline, but the 104th knew and trained with Reiner for 3 years (while they were preteens, so that's also a good portion of their adolescence), and have only considered the possibility of him being an enemy for a couple months. They also know that they know very little of what's going on in the outside world, and already heard Bertholt's outburst suggesting neither him or Reiner really have full agency at the moment. So their reaction to his "death" also makes sense. Hange, who was the only capable, emotionally uncompromized soldier present, gave a reasonably prompt command that no one followed. So yeah, definitely frustrating, but I wouldn't say it's entirely plot armor.

Especially since based on what I've heard, Patreon has really slow upload times, and if LoU are longer episodes in general then it's just a longer wait time between uploads anyway. As far as the next few episodes of AoT grouped or separate, I don't really mind too much either way. But a longer video with all 3 would be a cool one-time thing.

However, generally, the best move is to do what the majority of your audience prefers so that you're customizing your content for them - so you're doing the right thing by asking.
