Then he realises that simple humans aren't capable of this. The Eldians on Paradis are actually "Devils." It reinforces his belief in that. And even better, devil in Japanese is "Akuma." The episode ends with Levi's face simultaneously with Porco saying Akuma (which in Japanese accent, sounds like Ackermann.)

AOT deals with so many philosophical subjects like Freedom, Duty, Meaning, Sacrifice, Sin, Dogmatism, etc it's really incredible. "The iniquities of the fathers are visited upon the sons and daughters" - Exodus 20:5 You can even see aspects of Christ's sacrifice in Eren's motivations for "Freedom" albeit in a much darker and twisted way considering Eren is also willing to sacrifice most of humanity! "He came and died to set us free, not just to give us a pathway to heaven, but to give us freedom on earth as well" - Peter 2:24

Like he doesn't realize that these scouts have been fighting titans all their lives and have literally upgraded their weapons specifically for titans. Hard times make strong men and Paradis has been through some serious hard times.
