Levi thought the spear was enough. It was, Zeke was dying before being healed by the other titan. To activate the Rumbling, I think it needs to be a *titan* with royal blood. Not sure why. Also, Paradis wouldn't want to lose a valuable weapon like the Beast that will help their island survive against more advanced nations.

@jay_chu I can't think of a time someone transformed with missing limbs, so maybe that's right. My understanding is that it would come down to the shifter's own stamina, in that case. And even if they could not manage a perfect transformation, I think they could manage to turn into something threatening. I think in Levi's mind, the Thunder Spear was guaranteed death. He was right about that. Zeke was dead. But he was saved, not by his own healing, but from that Titan that came to heal him.

I don’t see how a Thunder Spear would kill zeke when we’ve seen warriors survive fatal wounds like a sword to the neck and a slit throat. So I would have done the exact same thing as zeke and detonated it, because Levi would be seriously injured and I would regenerate. And someone please explain why they need zeke’s royal blood when we literally have Historia to come in contact and activate the founding titan?

Porco bit Erens legs off before Eren transformed for the first time. Here, Zeke already has transformed once. Thus he cannot transform for a second time with missing limbs. So the thunder spear was completely unnecessary. Isayama probably only wrote that to nerf Levi who was way too op. Instory one could say Levi ected irrational (for the first time in this whole story) because of his hatred for Zeke.

Well, if he slices him...that's an injury. And so long as Zeke has the will to turn into a titan, he can. Porco bit off both of Eren's legs and Eren still was able to transform. The Thunder Spear is what Levi is using to threaten Zeke against transforming because if he does, he will be blown in half. Zeke was so desperate that he took the gamble. And would have died from the blast if that Titan didn't come to heal him.

My thoughts on why Levi strapped Zeke to the Thunder Spear... Previously, Zeke was being threatened by Levi and 30 other soldiers. Zeke could have transformed at any time, but his odds of defeating all of those forces was slim. Now that those 30 soldiers have been turned into Titans, only Levi remains. Levi maimed Zeke. But, now they are stranded in this forest alone. Levi can't kill Zeke because then Paradis loses the royal blood which is needed to use the limited rumbling and keep the island safe. Levi has to transport Zeke back to the nearest city and get help. Because when Zeke wakes up, nothing is stopping him from turning back into a titan and trying to beat Levi again. Levi has to find a way to keep Zeke from transforming while they travel by wagon to the city. So, Levi hooks him up to the Thunder Spear and slices his legs to keep his body from healing. But, Zeke was so desperate to carry out his plan that he was willing to gamble everything on surviving the blast.

I think I can tell you why I love her character despite her brainwashing. She is daring, gutsy and she takes initiative. For a 12-year-old, that is amazing and incredibly brave. If we are to ignore her psychotic rantings, I think she is an incredibly brave child, be it on the battlefield, or also in Liberio. I mean, imagine running towards the battlefield once the fight starts in Liberio, boarding the blimp, going to enemy territory and killing their shooter, all single-handedly, she knew she would be killed and yet she did it. That alone takes a lot of guts, hence I like her character

Good old cliffhanger. Just imagine if it was the other one that manga readers had anticipated. Us anime onlys would've lost our minds. We really had to wait a year for the second part of season 4. I'm still holding strong. I haven't read the manga yet. But I can't say I haven't been spoiled. I'm way too curious when it comes to reading people's replies in YouTube comments. With that said, I don't know exactly how the story ends. I'm very much looking forward to it given how controversial it is though. Only have to wait until Fall. We're almost there.

Eldians don't ever turn into Titans on their own; they have to be injected with Titan spinal fluid. The 9 Titans are a threat in the hands of someone who has ill intentions. But that's what it comes down to is intentions. It's similar to what Kaya said. "What did my mom do to deserve to die?" Just for existing and having an inherent trait they deserve to be eradicated? Over something that most of them cannot control? That's racism, by the way. I get that all of this is not an easy yes/no, but try to see it from the side of the Eldians who want to just live and not be targeted. Is it immensely difficult to change the way the world sees them? Of course, but that doesn't automatically make it the lesser path. I feel like Paradis is victim to people like Yelena, Zeke, and Lady Azumubito for them not even starting with a way to foster peace (which they could have given they hold strong cards), but they trudged forward with their own, personal ideals. In their vision for "freedom" they completely forgot to ask the people they are helping "what do you want?" It's that blindsighted approach that has led to so much destruction- neither side trying to understand the other and working in good faith.

When I first watched s4 p1, I hated her as well, but as it usually goes, with character development and great character writing, I came to like her a lot more. She's still kind of a brat and way too accurate on a rifle, but I like her character a lot. She alone kind of proves how peace might actually be an option, it would be hard to find someone who hates "island demons" as much as her, yet even someone like her came around after actually learning about them and being around them. At least that's how I see it

I don’t hate Zeke but I also won’t defend his wanton murdering (which I also acknowledge Eren is far more guilty in this respect). One only need look at the opening sequence of S3 EP17. Zeke not only kills because he feels he has to, but he treats it as a game. Taking life for him is a small matter. Levi was right to say he didn’t care about the lives that he took, which makes sense because in Zeke’s mind if he had to kill to accomplish his goal it was all the better since by killing he thought he was saving the lives of those yet to be born.

Gabi is a representation of the mentality of repaying evil with evil, but from the other side. She mirrors Eren, and for this reason we come to hate her, because she does evil things, yet is self-righteous and condemns others. The point of Gabi isn’t to love her, but to drive the viewer to reflect on why they hold the allegiances they do. One should be brought to contemplate the morality of the whole situation and be reshaped in view of that. That’s why think I Gabi (and also Falco) are great additions to the cast. They force a change in perspective, if one is open to change.

How can you be so sure if Eren wipes out everyone that history wont just repeat itself and Eldians use titan power for evil again and cause the cycle to continue. Only now they've doomed themselves. without the trees and the grass (burned away by the rumbling) the lands beyond paradis will not be able to support life. Now we're back to episode one. the last survivors of humanity are trapped on paradis, never to cross the sea because everyone else was wiped out by titans. The cycle repeats. The only difference between episode 1 and episode 89 is that the walls are gone and the greatest threat to humanity is overpopulation instead of titans. Everything will go back to the way it was, only, just as Pyxis said, "we'll have done it to ourselves"
