May not need this explanation anymore but essentially:The Founder Ymir listens to those with Royal blood but those with royal blood who become the founding titan get the purple eyes and get the vow of King fritz to not wage war. However, now that Zeke is able to enter this plane or "The Paths" where Founder Ymir resides and where all Eldians connect, he can control her because Eren has the founding titan. The will of Kid Fritz is passed down through the one who has the founding titan which is Eren.

If I were in Zeke's shoes, then the answer is everyone else. I mean, like you said, Zeke didn't know Eren's life. He didn't know him. They were only half-brothers that he sympathized through by making an assumption. But the main point of answering the question is because Zeke still has family that he observably loved in his grandparents. I mean, if Zeke's answer is Eren over the world, including his grandparents, I can accept the answer. I just would find it curious and ill-thought out.

I forget why Zeke cares more about Eren than the fate of Eldians. Meaning, if he could command Ymir to undo the vow, put chains on and off, why he didn't just enact his Euthanization plan. Like, why was it so important for him to get Eren's approval of this before doing it. Why not just do it and then spend your time after. But then if it's that Zeke still needed Eren to enact the plan, why does he need Eren for that but not all the other stuff he just did. I am not implying this is a plot hole or bad writing to any particularly acute fans; I'm just trying to remember the explanation if there was one for this because it seems, no, it really was an oversight on Zeke's part if he really cared about his race as much as he goes on about them.

The reason Zeke was able to nullify the vow renouncing war is because he was never tainted with it in the first place. King Fritz altered the genetics of his own descendents but Zeke was born from the remnants of the Royal family left on the continent. Probably a descendent of some distant cousin of King Fritz. The King never imagined that the founder would be stolen away bysomeone from outside the walls. So he never had their bodies altered to obey his will. Zeke was only lying to Eren that he was bound by the vow. It was all a show so Eren would finally drop his act after seeing that Zeke was chained and helpless. But yes, Zeke did not know before this contact that he wasn't tainted. In the time it took Eren to wake up, Zeke discovered that he wasn't held back by Fritz. He didn't actually manage to break the vow. Additionally, the episode title Two Brothers is so good. We have Eren and Zeke, Porco and Marcel and Colt and Falco. If it were anyone other than Colt begging him to stop for Falco's sake, Zeke wouldn't even flinch. But since he saw an elder brother desperately trying to save his little brother, it struck a chord. He wished he didn't have to, but he had no choice. He was also trying to save his little brother. Eren means so much to him because Eren is the only real family he has. His grandparents are brainwashed and psycho. Plus Eren is a reminder of his parents for him, the people he couldn't save. That's why he's so desperate to have Eren on his side. He can euthanise everyone right at this moment, but he's waiting till eren comes around to his plan so they won't have to fight

My theory of why Falco's pure titan form looking so unnatural with disproportional body is that children that are transformed into titans are more likely to look malformed, an example being eren when his father turned him into one and he had an abnormally larger head and smaller almost stubby body. Its only when they inherit a shifters powers are their body's formed more anatomically correct. That's also why their is a theory in the fanbase that the crawling titan at the end of season 3 when they were heading to the sea was potentially an infant or toddler that had yet to learn to walk and could only crawl and why it looked so abnormal.

They got around the King’s vow to renounce war because the King’s will is enforced by the Founding Titan being passed down to others of Royal Blood. But because Eren is the Founder, Zeke is not bound by the King’s will and is able to freely command using his royal blood.

Eren isn't dead yet. There are moments before death, after being decapitated, where the brain is still active. Zeke is currently holding Eren's head, right before he dies, which is why they were able to obtain the founder's power. All of this is happening in an instant, so in the real world time has stopped, which is why Eren hasn't died yet.

This episode is one of my favorites, and we see how all three older brothers were trying to protect their younger brothers. I love the relationship that Colt and Falco have with each other. Porco finally realizes that Marcel did what he did to save him from becoming a titan and cutting his lifespan shorter. Zeke and Eren's relationship makes you think about how they never truly had time to know each other more, not even shake each other's hands (even though) Zeke didn't want to shake his hand just yet because of the coordinate. RIP Colt, Porco, Eren's head, Zeke, Pyxis, and Nile.

I thinks it more to do with the fact that hes not holding the founder titan, since everytime we see royal blood inherit the founder then its made clear theyre controlled at times by carl fritz. But since eren has the founder they just come into contact and in the paths ymir only listens to royal blood, whether they hold the founding titan or not.

The most saddest thing is, infinite time in coordinate plane can be instant in real world. Founder Ymir literally built every single titan that was ever created. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM BY HAND. The scene where everything is frozen signifies everything happening in the Coordinate plane is happening in just an instant.

The animation, direction, music, and overall execution of this episode was incredible. When given enough time, MAPPA can do wonders. They received a bit of criticism because the animation couldn't hold up to Wit Studio's work, but this shows otherwise. Faze Gabi! There were so many YouTube comments from manga readers leading up to this episode saying things like the upcoming arc is peak fiction and there's one episode that will just "blow your mind" or it was "mind blowing". They were clever to use the word both figuratively and literally. There was no way I could've predicted Eren's head being blown off. I'm so glad I wasn't spoiled. It was so risky reading YouTube comments. Though gotta give credit there.

my understanding of Zeke not being bound by the vow has always been that he's not a descendant of King Reiss and he's from a different line of royals (like, let's say KF had a brother/sister/cousin/whatever left in Marley and Zeke descends from them). I'm not sure whether the entire royal bloodline was bound by the vow or just the descendants of Reiss, i don't think it has ever been specified. I just figured that Zeke is different in a sense that he's only a distant relative of King Reiss and hence, Historia so it wouldn't work on him.

Eren and Zeke really never died, Zeke caught Eren's head before he die (as we generally do not die instantly if our head is chopped, we can remain consious several seconds). When they made contact they were able to access "the paths" a kind of realm/dimension outside the real world and time where Imir remains and create and all titans. All Eldians are connected through the paths, that's why only Eldians and it's descendants are able to become titans, also that's why Imir can alter/modify Eldians in any way. When they access to the paths dimension, everything that happens in there, happens almost, if not instantly in the real world, that's is how the titan body of all the 9 and even the converted ones via serum or Seke's spinal fluid and scream ( a very limited version of the cordenate) appears in a very powerful boom! 💥

My concise as possible explanation: Zeke has royal blood so he has the power to command Ymir, but since he didn't eat the founding titan he isn't controlled by the Fritz ideals. So he has the free will to use Ymir's power to break his chains and create the ones that bind Eren at will. He needed Eren though to use as the key to access that place. Also Zeke has been in that place for "years" but those "years" all happened in the instant that Eren's head while still alive touched Zeke's hand. It's like some high level time dilation, where Zeke shows up there first, it feels like years pass for him, and then Eren wakes up there too, but in the real world not even a second has passed yet.

I think Zeke being in the Paths for "years" is just however long it would have taken Ymir to fix Eren's body just like she did with Zeke before. He was just in there waiting as soon as he caught Eren's head, but no time had passed in the real world. My guess is that Ymir would have had to rebuild everything from the neck down, so I imagine it could have taken her a long time.

Love this episode!! I have little brothers and I wept my ass off through those back to back sibling scenes 😂 For the Zeke thing (why he wasn’t possessed), it’s specifically bc of titan memories. When he said he got there without being “tainted by the First King’s ideals,” it’s bc, without inheriting the Founding Titan, he’s not connected to the memories of the First King. The combination of royal blood (which helps you access memories), being connected to the First King’s memories through the Founder, and the vow renouncing war is what usually results in that “possession,” where the new inheritor is too connected to the First King to completely separate. Since Zeke got there without the memories, he wasn’t possessed, and could figure out a way around that (which only worked bc Ymir is actually a person who didn’t really know how to not obey royal blood)

this is personally like top 3 or 5 episodes in the show for me. we lose falco, colt, nyle, pyxis, porco, and half the military. Titans are running rampant in Shiganshina again. theres like 20 fakeouts. Zeke looks dead then hes not, Falcos gonna eat Reiner and get the Armor until he’s not, Eren randomly pulls off some finessing, Gabby blows Erens head off. and all of that is in the first half alone. thats like Game of Thrones level insanity. then that trippy and mindblowing scene where time is frozen in place and its revealed Zeke caught Erens head. the sequence of travelling into the Paths. Then of course ending it with the massive lore dump and double backstabbing between Eren and Zeke. Just a perfect episode.

I always thought it's because he is not a part of the line that is bound by the vow. He is from the side of the Royal Family that stayed on the main continent. I assumed the vow only impacts King Fritz's progeny, not necessarily the entire bloodline.
