I feel so disconnected to this part. I get the thing about them being forced to do this to save the world, but the mood is just not right. The author also tries too hard to depict the yaegerists as bloodlusting demons, which is just ridiculous. There is no need to do this, just have them fight for their ideals, have the yeagerists be normal eren and erwin type soldiers fighting for their country. There is also the fact that everything feels far too convenient. It's just last-minute save after last-minute save. At least someone should have died, I just can't believe they all got out of there alive against like almost a hundred yeagerists. Just such poor writing and except for the rumbling scenes everything just goes downhill from here.

This is late, but the explanation for why Falco's Jaw Titan looks so different is because he had Beast Titan spinal fluid inside of him. In the manga and the anime there are parts where they talk about mixing spinal fluids of the 9 Titans to get different results. His form is a direct result of that.

Ymir’s probably wasn’t different from her pure titan form because she was stuck as her pure titan for such a long time. Maybe in the AOT world, after a certain time, your pure titan is what takes over as the look/characteristic of your transformation, even if you possess one of the nine.

Jag, that's fair, she did hesitate at first and it led to them getting a chance to transform. She tried to correct herself quickly by slicing them up as soon as Reiner made for Eren. And yep, you're right, she learned her lesson (so to speak) about hesitation. She's tried to minimize it as the series went on, probably compartmentalizing her feelings, same as Levi.

To use that pretext to justify genecide is laughable to say the least. In this world they are not at a level of technology like ours so, with much of the world fleet and the military in shambles, there is no way "the whole world" is going to retaliate. How many will be left alive? How many civilians will have to reinvent themselves once they pick up the pieces? @metalgearbear She actually was reluctant to kill Reiner and Bert. When she attacked them at the end of 2x6, she could not finish them off because they were her comrades. As a result, they got away and she reflected on how that was a missed opportunity. Later in the season, she realizes she has no choice in order to recover Eren. Shes like Levi in that she doesn't wear her heart on her sleeve, but the emotions are there. Of course, I understand that she has to kill her comrades in this scene, but to me, the tone didn't fit.

Mikasa has hardly been reluctant or hesitant when it comes to getting the job done. She nearly took out Reiner/Bertholdt in 2x6, she had no qualms killing Kenny's lackeys, to me this doesn't feel much different. It's waaaay too savage, I do think that. But she's emotional here, she wants it over, she's probably hyped on adrenaline. It's a crazy situation.

It’s not a hypocritical point because Erwin and Floch’s way of motivating are vastly different. Erwin’s speeches were always inspirational while Floch uses fear mongering tactics to push his nationalistic rhetoric to get the recruits to fight which Erwin never did. Floch is Erwin’s antithesis.

I'd say calling Floch a manipulator when he did was valid because Floch didn't give them the chance to question the morality of defending a genocide by immediately saying fight for this side right this instance in a high tense situation or your loved ones will die without any time to contemplate. I actually felt like it really fit the tone. She could've just moved on and kept killing more people without hesitation, but I interpreted it as her taking a moment to mourn. It's one of the few moments she stops killing. There's definitely different ways to look at that moment, but it fits imo

I despise that Mikasa scene with blood raining down. It's made to be some badass moment, but imo, it's so out-of-touch with the tone of how reluctant they are to be killing their comrades.

I think Floch is a great character, but he wouldn't be in my Top 10

I think best character and most like-able character are different. Is he one of the best (ie, well-written, nuanced, interesting)? Yes, absolutely. Do I completely disagree with him and hate his guts? Also yes. Haha.

Erwin motivated his soldiers and didn’t have any issues with anyone who disagree with him. Floch tends to use fear and intimidation to get his point across especially whenever he is executing people.

To be fair, they were trying to kill her. And the reason she was so brutal was to scare off the other yeagerists and it worked since they were running away right after she did what she did.

He ended up being a fascist that never understood Eren's message of freedom and one Eren never cared for.

I love this show so much. It's like there is no useless character, because the show makes you empathize with all the characters. You may not agree with their actions, but you could definitely understand WHY they do what they do. They are all fighting for something.

How was Floch manipulating the others Cannon? He was motivating them to protect the island, you praise Erwin for doing it but hate Floch for doing the same? I understand you dont like him but its a bit of a hypocritical point
