Sean the last issue in your comment has nothing to do with the voice acting and everything to do with the translators, which is just an issue of finding a better translation. OP is 100% right. "drawings dont have voices" no shit dumbass. does that mean you would watch invincible in anything other than english? if your answer is yes then you just have zero right to comment on this subject cause clearly you're trolling

2023-06-20 04:30:01 +0000 UTCYou do realize that you're talking about Japanese dub versus English dub - they're dubbing the voice either way since drawings don't have voices. Occasionally the English dub will be better than the Japanese dub, even if it's only like 10% of the time (which is my opinion). Not only that, but sometimes the translations in the English dub are just better and more natural. Nothing worse than a crappy sub where they translate everything literally and it feels awkward/unnatural and the sentences don't flow.

When you start watching Dark, would you ask yourself if you're going to watch it in german or english? no. Do you ask yourself if you're watching Invincible in japanese or english? No. This question only appears to anime, because many people are just lazy to read, or they are full on nostalgia because they saw it the first time a decade ago in english.

2023-05-05 04:29:35 +0000 UTCalways watch shows on their original audio. simple as that. no matter how the internet says the dub is awesome, it will never be better or fit better than the original audio. most people that recommend any dub is on nostalgia. most of the time it is just cringe, and it can completely change the vibe of a character, his vocal traits and etc. death note might be a good one but it is far from being on the same level as the original. you simply cannot go wrong with the sub.

That being said, I think y'all should at least try the dub so you're not as biased since you won't be used to the voice actors. If you still don't like the dub that's fine but give it a shot earlier on than you did with AoT

He is arguably one of the top voice actors of all time. btw, he voices upper moon 2 (Douma) from demon slayer! Us demon slayer fans who read the manga wanted Mamoru Miyano to voice Douma because of Douma's personality and we got our wish! The emotions conveyed just solely by his voice fits Douma's character so well!

I watch both depending on the show and who I’m with because I lean sub but people I watch it with don’t watch as much anime and shows like fmab sound way better in dub for me because I watched it in dub first. Let me correct myself, ofc there’s cases where the dub is objectively just worse but for all of the popular ones what I said is true

Death note is probably one of three shows I can think of that I think the dub is genuinely better and I’m a pretty big dub hater.

While I love a certain character’s English dub VA in this show, there is another character whose English dub is cringey beyond anything. One has to look at the overall performance of all characters. In that regard, the sub is better than the dub, my two cents.
